FOLDABLE: Convergent, Divergent, Transform
PART 1: Instructions for making a 3-door foldable
FIRST, get a sheet of construction paper and fold it horizontally. Your new rectangle will be about
15 cm x 23 cm.

NEXT: Using a ruler, draw a mark at 7.5 cm and 15 cm. Use those marks to draw two lines (making
3 total sections)
LAST: Unfold the paper. Cut up the lines, stopping at the middle. Now, label each section (leave
room for drawing later!)

PART 2: Information for the foldable
Use the links listed on our class website:
http://www.cotf.edu/ete/modules/msese/earthsysFlr/plates1.html or
“http://pubs.usgs.gov/gip/dynamic/understanding.html” to complete the foldable. You can
also use your Restless Earth book and any information you found in Brain Pop.
OUTSIDE OF FOLDABLE:
You should have labeled each of the 3 sections.

You also need to illustrate a land form example
of each type of boundary. (You can draw more

than one example!)

INSIDE OF FOLDABLE: Be sure to use the reading on the website to find the information!
 On the left side- 1) Describe the direction the plates move. 2) List the land formations you would
find at that plate boundary. 3) Give at least 3 other details relation to the boundary.
 On the right side, give 3 examples of places you would find that boundary in general. At least
one example MUST be a specific location (country, ocean) on Earth you would find that type of
boundary.
 ALSO on the right side, draw a diagram with arrows showing the direction of plate movement.
