the effect
When a shipper prohibits the carrier from utilizing any part of a trailer by
means of installing partitions, blocking, bracing or any other means, the
measurements used in determining the cubic requirements of the shipment will
be:
Height: 96 inches (8 feet)
Width 96 inches (8 feet)
Length: The linear distance from the inside front of the trailer to that
portion of the partition, blocking, bracing, etc., nearest the rear of the
trailer.
When unitized shipments or shipments of non-unitized freight are loaded in such
a manner that determining the total cube of each package or handling unit is
impractical, or shipments are tendered in such a manner that they cannot be
transferred, the measurements used in determining the cubic requirements of the
shipment will be:
Height: 96 inches (8 feet)
Width 96 inches (8 feet)
Length: The linear feet of trailer occupied by the shipment.
When the width of an article is equal to or greater than 70 inches, it will
be computed as having a width of 96 inches.
For the purposes of this item, when two or more shipments are tendered to
carrier by the same Consignor, from the same place during one calendar day for
delivery to the same Consignee at one place, and where remittance will be paid
by the same payer, they will be considered one shipment.
