Euroquiz Final 2014
Tiebreaker questions
Instructions: There are several different points in the Euroquiz final where
tiebreakers may be required. Three schools will receive prizes at the end of the quiz,
so we need to determine which schools hold 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Only two teams
go through to Round 4, so tiebreakers may be required before that round, as well as
at the end to determine the overall winner. The tiebreak questions have been split
into three different tiebreak rounds, increasing in difficultly. Once one round has
been used, please proceed to the next round.
If a tiebreak is required, each team will be asked a question in turn, starting in
alphabetical order of school name. Each school chooses a question, picking a
number between 1 and 10 (or 11 and 20, etc). Once a number has been chosen,
cross off that question to ensure that no question is asked more than once. The first
team to get an incorrect answer where the other team answers correctly will be out.
Questions answered incorrectly are not passed over to the other team to answer.
Tiebreak after Round 4: If a tiebreak is required after Round 4, schools will not
choose the question. Instead, questions will be asked in order. The first team
member to press the buzzer answers the question. There is no conferring at this
stage. If the person answers correctly, that team will win. If the answer is incorrect
the question will not be passed over to the other team.
