ESS provided oversight of numerous contractors and assisted with the coordination of food safety audits, environmental standards, accommodations and more. At the
peak of this operation, almost 33,000 workers were being fed daily and over 12,000 beds were being provided.
Hurricanes | Katrina | Ike
Our ability to pull from national, regional, and local resources is what makes our capacity so unique and sets us apart from the competition.
In 2005, ESS quickly set-up and operated housing facilities for approximately 2,000 Chevron associates and family members as part of the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.
In 2008 post Hurricane Ike, we assisted with major relief efforts. Within 24 hours of the storm making land fall we were in position with truckloads of ice, water, and OSE
supplies (batteries, tarps, extension cords, rope, fans). Over a 3 day period we delivered 15,000 cases of bottled water, 141,000 pounds of ice, and $150,000 in supplies.
Forest Fires
The 2011 spring forest fires in northern Alberta came very close to oil sands operations. At Canadian Natural Resources , we assisted in the controlled evacuation of 5,000
people, provided over 4,000 guests with food, coffee and blankets, and served 5,000 meals in 24 hours – all with zero HSE incidents.
Compass has prepared a scalable cycle menu including Middle Eastern and Western food, all of which is Halal. In our operations
we serve thousands of Halal meals every day across Canada.
We have an established Partnership with Paramount Fine Foods, which is a leading Middle Eastern supplier in Canada. Paramount
Fine Foods will act as an exclusive consultant on the resettlement project of Syrian refugees. Finally we have access to Arabic
speaking employees and Chefs that will be available to translate menus etc.

we offer clients access to substantial cost savings.
Our robust supply chain network extends to all parts of Canada and includes a full
range of food and equipment suppliers and distributors. We have established
business continuity plans to ensure safe, secure and uninterrupted supply of goods.
