Excavation of a previously unknown Roman villa site near Teston.
April 13th, 14th How to identify Roman pottery with Malcolm Lyne
May Bank Holiday May 4th, 5th, 6th. Introduction to Archaeology
A practical three-day bank holiday course on how archaeology works. In the
afternoon we will be in the field plotting the extent and quality of the
important Roman villa complex at Teston near Maidstone.
May 14th, 15th, 16th Surveying for archaeologists
A course on the theory and practise of landscape survey with Paul Wilkinson.
June 5th to 14th June. Excavation of the Roman Palace at Oplontis
An important research excavation opportunity at the World Heritage Site at
Oplontis near Pompeii. This is an unique opportunity to join that select band
of archaeologists! Places are limited and cost £175 per week.
July 13th-28th Excavation of Bronze Age barrows at Hollingbourne
An opportunity to participate in World Class archaeology on the North
Downs of Kent.
August 2nd to 18th. Roman bath house excavation. A stunning opportunity
to excavate a ckassic Roman building in the heart of Faversham with a
Training Week running from August 5th-9th.
September 14th to 19th, Pompeii and the Bay of Naples with Paul
Wilkinson
A trip for the cognoscenti who wish to spend more time at Pompeii and
Herculaneum. We will also visit Cumae, Baiae, Pozzuoli, Oplontis, and Stabiae

September 27th to 29th, Autumn Trip to Roman York with the York
Archaeological Trust. See behind the scenes on the most important Roman

October 5th, 6th. Bones and Burials with Dr Chris Deter
October 12th, 13th. How to identify and make Prehistoric stone tools
with Hugo Anderson-Whymark.
Oct 26th, 27th. Archaeological Drawing with Jane Russell
A beginner’s and refresher course on how to draw archaeological artefacts.
November 2nd, 3rd and 9th, 10th. Professional training with SWAT.
