Have you ever wanted to make a change in the world? Martin Luther King Jr. Was an âctivist an
made huge changes in the world. Teen activists might not be as well knowlbut you might notice if
they weren't there. Without teen activists there are somethings that might not have happened in
this world. Teen activists volunteer their time to help o!'Íers or a cause. Teen activists maké
changes in the world, inspire perseverance , and make sacrifices and kept on going.
ú
Teen activists make changes in the world. One example of a person who did thís is Malala
Yousafzai. Malala wanted to let all girls be able to go to school, but the Taliban( a terrorist'group in
Pakistan) didn't want that to happen. Malala stood up for herself and was the first teen to be
awarded a Nobel peace prize. On page four paragraph ten Malala explains her dream of becoming
. She states,"...her fierce determination to get the education she needed no matter what
a
Taliban did or how afraid she was." This shows Malala is a teen activist because she was
determined to do anything even if the taliban wanted to kill her. Also she took steps to help a
by doing whatever it took for success
Also teen activists also inspire perseverance . Jaide Bucher demonstrated this by playing softball,
and she was born with one hand. But that doesn't stop her from doing what she loves. Page two
paragraph one said,"... but their doubts only motivate Jaide to work harder to succeed. "l like to
prove people wrong," explains the teen." This proves Jaide is a teen activist because words don't
bring her down, they only motivate her to keep on going even through tough times. She managed
to teach herself how to play softball with only one hand.
Lastly, teen activists make sacrifices and keep going. For example Zachary Bonner walked from
Tampa Florida to Washington DC to raise awareness for the 1.3 million homeless children in
America. ln the video we watched Zach had lost hair, 15 pounds and he also was sick. Also he
didn't like to talk about the condition he was in all he wanted was to talk about the homeless
children in America. This explains that Zach rs a teen activist because he made sacrifices to his
health, and didn't care about how he felt all he care about is the homeless children. He also kept
on going if it got rough, he walked everyday to show how homeless children in America live.
Teen activists such as Malala, Jaide, and Zach want to make changes in the world. So they took
action and made the change they wanted to see. Teen activists make changes in the world,
inspire perseverance , and make sacrifices and kept on going. Maybe someday you will be an
activist to and do something that will change the world.

Teen Activists
Do you know what a teen activist is? A teen activist is a teen/pre-teen that helps a
problem/cause and spreads awareness. They help people who are suffering in this world. Without
teen activists we may not even ,(¡pw about some of the problems in our world and would not
make as big of a diffåren."
now. Teen activists are understanding, make a change, and
"rdËïo
inspire others.
Teen activists are understanding. One example of a teen activist who understands is Chandra
Starr. Chandra Starr raised money to make 91 gardens to feed the homeless. She did this
she experienced first hand that homeless people didn't get enough fruits and vegetables
in their meals and she wanted them to eat more and be healthy. ln the article "Growing Hope",
this is how Chandra understands, "Chandra and her mother, Kim Walker, weren't homeless for
long-but even after they secured housing, they still experienced financial difficulties and relied on
free provisions from soup kitchens and a food bank. Unfortunately, much of that food came in
cans and boxes and contained excessive amounts of sugar, fat, and salt. Chandra became
ovenrveight:and constantly felt sick..." (Page 5) Chandra saw the problem and had experienced it
herself and then decided to help people in the same situation.
Teen activists also make a change. Hannah Salwen demonstrated this by selling her house
then donating the money to charity which fed 40 villages in Africa. "She convinced her family to
sell their $1.5 million dream home, move into a house half the size, and donate $800,000 to
charity. After some research, the Salwens chose to give to The Hunger Hannah Salwen Project.
The money was used to help the people of some 40 villages in Ghana." This quote from "Can
Money Buy Happiness?" shows how Hannah makes a change. This proves teen activists make a
change because her whole family made sacrifices to seek their house to help many people they
didn't know.
Lastly, teen activists inspire others. For example, Malala Yousafzai a teen girl in Pakistan
fought for girls rights for an education against a terrorist group the Taliban. "Malala's crusade
empowered her and other girls. Her courage gave hope to thousands." This quote from the article
"Malala The Powerful" (page B) demonstrates how Malala inspires others. This shows teen
activists such as Malala inspire others while doing this because she had stood up for a right when
others didn't have courage to and gave many a voice and hope.
Teen activists help the world in many aspects. What would our world be like without teen
activists? What can we average people do to help the world? Teen activists help us by
understanding problems, making a change and inspiring others.

Did you know that people who are just teens have made a change in their communities by
raising awareness about topics that are meant to better peoplffney can make huge changes at
very early age. Teen activists make sacrifices like Zach Bonner, or how about Chandra Starr a girl
who made a big change in her community and even Hannah Salwen who saw a need for change
in her area.
Teen activists make sacrifices. One example of a person who did this was Zach Bonner. He
walked across the U.S to raise awareness to the many homeless children of the US and refused
to be interviewed and would put the spotlight on the homeless youth. An example of the sacrifices
he made was highlighted in a video depicting his journey, it showed that across the walk he
suffered illnesses, extreme weight loss, hair loss and had to spend money on an RV that was like a
portable rest stop. This shows that despite him suffering medical conditions and the lose of money
on an RV to raise awareness for his cause.

Teen activists also make a change in the world . Chandra Starr demon
money for 91 gardens that would give many homeless nutritious food. An example of this is in the
article "Growing Hope" under the section "Help for the hungry" it stateg"Chandra's efforts have
made an incredible difference in her area: At the gardens she funded, volunteers have
.z nldle than 20,000 pounds of produce which has been directly delivered to food banks and
çøS;ffiusgli families." This shows she is an activist by stating she made a difference in her area

Lastly, teen activists notice need for change. For example, Hannah Salwen a girlwho noticed
the significant difference between a poor man and an expensive car this bothered her a lot making
her strive to do something for people like him. At the end of a Greek story titled (The golden cures)
the end section states "She was haunted by the stark contrast between the luxury of the car and
the poverty of the man" This piece of evidence shows how she felt disturbed and sad for a man in

Lastly, teen activists courageous. For example, Malala Yousafzai stood up and spoke up

A teen activist is someone who realizes how good the world could be, and takes steps to do
that good thing, and soon makes and impact that will forever change. Zach Bonner, Chandra
Starr and Malala Yousafzai have all done that by being committed to their cause, inspiring, and
having courage, just like many other teen activist did, But the question is... can you be one of the

Teen activists have to also be persistent. Malata demonstrated what it is like to be a persistent

These are just a few of the amazing people who follow the traits of being a teen activist and what
they specialize in, Zachary Bonner being the example for being sacrificial, Chandra star being the
