West Union, Iowa
Amy will be hosting a dessert social on Wednesday,

Wife Begins At Forty
Day Trippers Theatre, Bloomington,
MN
Wednesday, April 5, 2017
It’s a laugh-a-minute farcical evening when housewife
Linda tries to fan the flames of passion with her mildmannered ordinary husband George. Throw in assistance or hindrance, as the case may be, of their funloving neighbors, Roger and Betty. George’s father,
Leonard, and you have the formula for a belly-rolling
good time.
Wife Begins At Forty is written by the great Ray
Cooney. As many of you know, Ray is the brainchild
behind such classic plays as Run For Your Wife, Funny Money, It Runs In The Family, and There Goes the
Bride. Ray states that Wife Begins at Forty is his favorite play. Hopefully, it will be yours as well. Call
and reserve your seat today. Cost of the trip is
$113.00 for members and $133.00 for nonmembers. Price includes transportation, admission
and gratuities.
Ole & Lena at the State Fair
Heyde Center for the Arts
Tuesday, May 9, 2017
The calendar has finally turned over to Ole’s favorite
event of the year—State Fair time. Unfortunately, Lena
doesn’t share Ole’s excitement. For years, Lena has
been in countless competitions with her arch rival
Elaine Danielson. But this year, Lena has a new trick
up her sleeve that she’s sure will tip the balance in her
favor. Ole, on the other hand, has his own fair surprise
this year. Ole has heard that you can make a truckload
of money at the fair with a food stand. So Ole and Sven
have decided that they need to come up with something
they can stuff on a stick and possibly give them a
chance to be on TV. Sign up early, as this trip filled up
fast last year. Cost of the trip is $113.00 for members
and $133.00 for non-members. Price includes transportation, admission, pie and ice-cream, and gratuities.
Pacific Coast Adventure
June 15-23, 2017
Join us on a dream vacation to the Pacific coast with
breathtaking scenery from Washington to California.
You will tour the city of Seattle, the Boeing Factory, Mt.
St. Helens, city of Portland, the International Rose test
garden, Coos Bay, Crater Lake, Redwood National
Park, Avenue of the Giants, and sightseeing tour of San
Francisco, just to name a few. Trip includes airfare,
transportation to the airport, 11 meals, tour guide, hotel
accommodations, admission, baggage handling, tips, &
cancellation insurance. Just sit back and relax and let
us take care of everything. The price is $3395.00 per
person for double. Make your final payment by
check prior to the final payment due date and receive $200.00 per couple / $100.00 per person booking discount.
Final payment is due March 31, 2017. Pre-departure
meeting will be held 2 weeks before departure. You will
receive a letter with details of the meeting, along with a
health questionnaire form to be filled out and returned
by May 15. Call Betty, Amy, Dianne, or me with any
questions.

Bits by Betty…
Spring is about here,
and what a welcome sight it
will be. I am glad we have
the winter behind us I am
sure a lot of you are, too.
We kicked off the start of
2017 with our annual Chicken and Cards at the Lansing Community Center.
We had a nice group join us
for the day, and everyone
enjoyed the dinner and
cards. We have some real
card sharks out there and
also some very good cooks.
Which reminds me: one of
our members was gracious
enough to share her dessert
recipe with us. You will find
it next to my Lemon Salad
recipe. We want to thank
Judy for another great job
on the chicken and her services to make the day a
success. Also, thanks to all
of you who brought in those
tasty dishes.
Our trip to Bloomington, MN
is fast approaching. We will
be taking in the play Wife
Begins at Forty. From what
the theater’s producer/
director is telling me, it is
quite a crowd pleaser, so be
sure to get signed up. The
itinerary is on the back of
the newsletter.
As you have read on the
front of the newsletter, 2017
will be bringing a few new
changes to the club. If you
have questions be sure to
give Amy, Dianne, Connie
or me a call.
Till next time…
Betty

And The Survey Says...
It looks like Hawaii here we come
for 2018! There has been an overwhelming response to visit the islands once again. I have been
reaching out to a couple of travel
companies to see what kind of a
package they can put together for
us. We are hoping to schedule it
for February 2018. If interested
please notify and sign up soon, as
space is limited.
