A beloved Broadway gem, The Wiz infuses
L. Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard of
Oz with a dazzling mix of rock, gospel and
soul music. This timeless tale of Dorothy’s
adventures through the Land of Oz is a fun,
family-friendly, modern musical and one of the
most popular shows of all time.
Performances are October 20–22, 2017 at COCA.
VOICE INTENSIVE I JUNE 5–9, 2017 | $330
Developed for vocalists preparing for high school, college theatre admission or professional
auditions, students will focus on technical skills such as sight reading, diction, breathing and tone
production. Utilizing songs that represent a variety of musical theatre styles, they will also learn lyric
analysis, vocal expression and acting the song.
VOICE INTENSIVE II | JUNE 12–16, 2017 | $330
Designed for vocalists who have completed the COCA Voice Intensive and are interested in more
advanced strategies for preparing for high school, college theatre admission or professional

DESIGN INTENSIVE: PUPPETS & MASKS | JUNE 15–16, 2017 | $610 ***NEW THIS YEAR!***
Young artists will explore a range of puppet, mask and headpiece styles—from simple rod puppets
to large scale body puppets that require multiple operators. Meeting with the creative team for the
COCA production of Disney’s The Lion King JR., students will design their own creative solutions to
production concepts.

BALLET AND CONTEMPORARY INTENSIVE | JUNE 5–16, 2017 | $610
This dance intensive will focus on the traditional ballet curriculum, including technique classes, pointe and
men’s classes, as well as contemporary modern dance. Additional classes will diversify the training, with a
concentration on choreography and repertoire.
ACTING INTENSIVE: BUILDING BLOCKS OF A PROFESSION | JUNE 5–9, 2017 | $330
Developed for students interested in exploring various aspects of the profession, including increasing
technical skills in acting, voice/speech and theatrical movement but also on headshot considerations,
resume building, audition strategies suited to various settings, working with an agent, managing oncamera and voiceover assignments and better understanding the day-to-day life of a working actor.

SUMMER ARTS CAMPS
At COCA, we pride ourselves on offering some
of the most creative summer arts camps for kids
and teens. Our campers have the opportunity
to learn and experience new things, build their
skills and—most importantly—have fun! They’ll
find ways to express themselves in various
disciplines—through dance, drama, poetry,
sculpture, songwriting, videography and much,

COCA CLASS PASS
$20 per class
For professional performing artists and college
students ONLY, the COCA Class Pass allows users
to “drop in” to Intermediate and Advanced level
classes at their convenience, regardless of their
busy rehearsal and performance schedules. COCA
Class Passes can be purchased online or in person
at the Registration Office. Subject to availability.

MULTI-CLASS DISCOUNTS
Students registering for three or more fullsemester classes are eligible for a discount
applied per person, per semester.
3–4 classes: $45 off those classes
5 classes or more: $75 off those classes
RETURNED PAYMENT POLICY
It is COCA’s policy to charge a $25 fee for any
returned payments (checks or credit cards).
Those whose payments are returned may lose
the privilege to pay via check, credit card and
payment plan.

SUMMER CLASSES MEET JUNE 5–AUGUST 19
St. Louis native Liz Giardina, COCA alumna
and Vice President of Design for Proenza
Schouler, will inspire future fashion designers
with a focus on creativity. Utilizing illustration,
mixed media collage and draping, students
will explore their fashion ideas while learning
more about the fashion profession.
WITHDRAWALS/REFUNDS
Tuition fees will be refunded, less a $25
processing fee per class, if a withdrawal form
is submitted (available at COCA or online) by
June 4. Registration fees are non-refundable.
CANCELLATION POLICY
In the event that a class does not reach the
minimum enrollment, COCA reserves the right
to cancel. If no alternative class can be agreed
upon, COCA will refund tuition in full, less the
non-refundable registration fee.
