OPEN CUPBOARD FOOD PANTRY Maple Street (street behind Wilton Theatre), Wilton (located in the white house-type building to the left of the Sacred Heart Church, one block past the Legion. Small white church right after the funeral home) Our Community has a wonderful food pantry for those in need. It needs our support throughout the year, not just at Christmastime, and below is information on what you can do to help the cause and also how you can get food and supplies if you are in need. The workers at the Pantry made it a point of stressing that if you are finding it hard to make ends meet for whatever reason, please don’t second guess yourself or think someone needs this food more than you. It is there for anyone struggling and is generously supported by the community. It’s purpose is to be used and may give you a little relief as you cope with making ends meet. Some of the food they offer are non-perishable canned goods, potatoes, some refrigerated vegetables and frozen meat at times, coffee and sugar. Also available are kitchen paper goods, bathroom toiletries, dish soap, laundry and bath soap, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, and toilet paper. Instead of pre-bagging up food and paper goods for you, they are unique in that they let you shop their shelves for what you need. The Pantry is open by appointment only so if you would like to pick up food, please call any of the following people; Linda at 654-2635, Nancy at 654-9387, or Deb at 654-6547. They try to see everyone within 24-48 hours of the call. There are several ways we can support this Pantry. At Market Basket they have a barrel with their name on it set up inside to the left as you enter from the side where Redbox is located and donations are gratefully accepted. You can also send checks to Open Cupboard Pantry, P.O. Box 111, Wilton, NH 03086.
