Thanksgiving Holiday
Thanksgiving Day is a National Holiday celebrated in both the United States
and Canada. It was originally celebrated as a day of giving thanks for the
blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. Thanksgiving is celebrated
11-21-16 to 11-25-16
on the fourth Thursday of November in the US and on the second Monday of
Thanksgiving Week October in Canada.

Thanksgiving today, is not celebrated like the first Thanksgiving was observed
by the pilgrims and Indians. It has evolved over time into diverse customs
and individualized family traditions.
Thanksgiving has been celebrated throughout history on different dates. In
1941, Thanksgiving was finally sanctioned by Congress
as a legal holiday to be celebrated on the fourth
Thursday of November.
