We are pleased to announce the completion of the following deal:
Palatine invests in £100m - Turnover Housebuilder
Gateley Plc advised Palatine Private Equity on their first deal from their new Birmingham office, by taking a stake in
housebuilder Westleigh Partnerships in a transaction which values the business at £65m.
Founded in 1985 by husband and wife Chris and Judy Beighton, Westleigh is one of the largest housebuilders in the
Midlands that focuses on the delivery of affordable homes to Registered Providers.
The Leicestershire-based business, which also has an office in Solihull, generated sales of about £100m, with EBITDA
of more than £9m during the financial year to 31 March 2016. It hopes sales will rise to more than £165m by 2018.
The deal represents a partial exit for the founders, and the business will continue to be led by Ian Jones, who joined 20
years ago, as managing director. Founder Chris Beighton will remain as chairman.
The deal was led by a cross discipline and cross-office team of corporate partners; Gareth John who led on the
acquisition, Simon Gill who led on the investment by Palatine and Andrew Madden who led on banking, the team were
assisted by corporate solicitor, Priya.
