HOUSERULES
AtEdithaHouse,therearesixteen(16)guestrooms,eachwithaprivatebathroomandkitchen.Eachroomalsohasa
queensizedbed,sofabed,andcabletelevision.
Therearetwocommonareaswithtelevisions.Oneislocatedinthefirstfloorwherethereisalsoacomputerand
printerforgueststouse.TheothertelevisionislocatedintheDirectors’Room,#404.YouareinvitedtoenjoytheTVs
andcomputer,andtosharethemwiththeotherguests.
AsaguestofEdithaHouse,Iherebyunderstandandagreetothefollowing:
1. Duetoourguests’compromisedimmunesystems,visitorsarenotallowed.
2. EdithaHouseisanon‐smokingfacility.Smokingisnotpermittedwithin200feetofEditha
House,includingthepatiosandbalconies.Smokingortamperingwithsmokedetectorswill
resultinimmediateeviction.
3. Alloutsidedoorsarekeptlockedatalltimes.Immediatelycontactstaffifsomeonewantsto
enterEdithaHouse.Undernocircumstancesshoulddoorsbeopenedforanyone.Donot,
underanycircumstances,propadooropensosomeoneelsecanenter.Whenyoucomein,be
surethatnooneentersbehindyouandallentrancedoorsarelocked.Ifyoufindanoutside
doorleftopenATANYTIME,pleaseshutitandchecktoseethatitissecure.
4. Duringyourstay,youwillreceiveoneroomkey,aswellasaseparatekeytotheexterior
doors.Yourkeysshouldbewithyouatalltimes.Makesuretoalwayslockyourroom.Editha
HouseisNOTRESPONSIBLEforvaluablesormedicationsleftinyourroom.Returnthekeys
toDirectors’Room,#404,whenyoucheckout.Therewillbea$20chargeforeachlostkey.
5. Pleaserespectallstaff,volunteers,otherguests,andcaregivers.Disruptiveorirresponsible
behavior,orlanguagethatthreatensthesecurityorwell‐beingofourguestswillnotbe
toleratedandmayresultinthelossofabilitytostayat,orreturnto,EdithaHouse. 6. Quiethoursarebetween10:30pm‐7:00am,sevendaysaweek.Thetelevisioninthefirst
floorcommonareawillbeturnedoffduringthesetimes.Werequestthatthetelevisionsin
eachroomarealsokeptatareasonablevolume.
7. Firearms,weapons,alcoholicbeverages,andnon‐prescribeddrugswillnotbetoleratedon
EdithaHouseproperty.Failuretocomplywillresultinimmediateeviction.
8. Ifanyguestorcaregiverisfoundtobeundertheinfluenceorinpossessionofillegaldrugsor
alcohol,theymaybeaskedtovacateimmediatelyandmaylosetheprivilegeofstayingat
EdithaHouse.
9. GuestandcaregivermustwearanEdithaHouseidentificationwristbandsatalltimes.
10. Allguestsmustmaintainthecleanlinessoftheirguestroomeitherbythemselvesorwiththe
assistanceoftheircaregiver.(Includingkitchenandbathroom.)Staffmayhavetocomeinto
yourroomtoconductamaintenancecheckoftheroom,confirmoccupancy,restocksupplies
andattendtoanynecessarymaintenancerequirements.
11. Aparkingpassisrequiredinordertoparkinthebacklot.Passesarelimitedtooneper
room.DONOTleaveanyvaluablesinyourvehicle.Alwayslockyourvehicleandmake
surethewindowsarerolledup.EdithaHouseisnotresponsibleforlostorstolenitems.

12. Fireandevacuationproceduresarepostedonthebackofyourguestroomentrydoorandin
yourGuestInformationBinder.Pleasereadthemcarefullyandunderstandthatincaseofa
fire,theFireDepartmentrequiresthatyouleavethebuildingandmeetintheparkinglot.NO
ONEmayre‐enterthebuildinguntiltheFireDepartmentgivestheokay,evenintheeventof
afalsealarm.
13. Candles,incenseandspaceheatersarestrictlyprohibited. 14. Inordertoensureyoursafetyandthesafetyofotherguests,pleasebeawareofallelectrical
appliancesthatmaybelefton;(curlingirons,straighteners,crockpots,stoves,ovens,etc.)
15. Keeptheareaoutsideofyourroomclearofanypersonalbelongings.Pleasedonotplaceany
personalitemsorlinensonthebalcony.
16. Forthehealthandsafetyofallguests,wedonotallowpetsontheproperty.Gueststhat
requireboardingoftheircatordogwillbereferredtoVillaLaPaws.
17. Pleasedonotleaveanypersonalitemsinthecommunityrooms.Communitykitchensshould
becleanedaftereachuse.Pleaseplacealldirtydishesinthedishwasher.
18. Allguestroomsmustbecleanedpriortocheckout.Stripyourbedand/orsleepersofawhen
youleave,andplacetheusedlinensinthelaundrybag.DONOTputwettowelsontopof
blanketsorbeds.
19. Ifyourequireanyfurnituremoved,pleasecontactEdithaHousestaff.Donotremove
furniturefromanyroom.
20. Properattireincommonareasisrequired.Footwearisrequiredatalltimes.
21. EdithaHousehasacommunitycomputerandprinterthatguestsmayuselocatedinthefirst
floorcommonarea.Thiscomputerwillremaininthecommonareaatalltimes.Useofthis
computerwillbelimitedto30minutes.EdithaHousealsooffersfreewirelessinternetfor
gueststhatbringtheirowncomputers.ThenetworknameisEHGuestandthepasswordis
guest336.Thisservicemaynotworkinallareasofthehouse.
22. Pleaserememberthateachguest’sreligiousbeliefsareprivate,andthereforereligious
materialsmaynotbeplacedaroundthehouse.
23. Nothingmaybeattachedtoanysurfaceoftheguestroom,eithertemporaryorpermanent,or
damagesmaybeassessed.

understandthatfailuretodosowillresultinruleinfractionsandImaybeaskedtoleave.
EdithaHousehas24‐hourVideoSecurityCamerasontheproperty.EdithaHousedoorsarelocked24‐hoursa
dayforyoursafety.
