Voluntary Cooperation/Operational Assistance Agreement between Marion
County Sheriff's Office and Ocala Police Department for 2017-2018
(execution authorized by Resolution 2011-41)
Because of existing and continuing law enforcement problems, especially those that cross
jurisdictional lines, it is to the advantage of each agency, located in relation to each other, to
receive and extend mutual aid in the form of law enforcement services in both intensive
situations, including emergencies under F.S.S. 252.34(2); and routine services to protect the
public peace and safety, and preserve the lives and property of the people.
In the past, City Council by Resolution 2011-41, has authorized the Chief of Police and the
Mayor to execute this type of Agreement, if it does not require the expenditure of City funds.
This Agreement does not require the expenditure of City funds.
