Illala Lodge – (DB) Day 2, 3 & 4 | Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday VICTORIA FALLS TOWN to HWANGE NATIONAL PARK via VICTORIA FALLS (±210km) 2 FULL DAYS IN HWANGE NATIONAL PARK After breakfast, your guide will collect you for a guided tour of the world famous Victoria Falls. Depart on a 3 hour journey by road through rural Zimbabwe, passing Ndebele villages to your luxury mobile tented camp in Hwange National Park. Accommodation is in fully furnished East African safari tents with en-suite bathrooms (flushing toilets and hot water bucket showers). Hwange is a ‘Big 5’ wildlife sanctuary and famous for large concentrations of elephants and diverse wildlife and bird species. The camp facilities are exclusive to the guests. On safari you can look forward to bush walks and animal tracking, game drives, sundowners at waterholes, traditional dancing, visiting the Wild Dog center or Mtoa Ruins as well as special activities to teach you about Zimbabwe and African culture. After breakfast you will drive through Hwange and rural Zimbabwe on a 3 ½ hour drive to Matobo National Park. A scenic paradise, Matopos is famous for its dramatic rock formations and granite Whalebacks. You will enjoy your time exploring on foot or game drives, visiting the famous rock formations of Matopo Hills , climbing to World’s View to the gravesite of Cecil John Rhodes and learning about Khoisan rock art and the history of Zimbabwe. Time permitting, you can also choose to see a local cultural village and participate in White Rhino Tracking. Tented Camp in Matopos (LDB) Day 7 | Saturday MATOBO NATIONAL PARK to MASVINGO via BULAWAYO (±350km) After an early morning activity and breakfast we drive through Bulawayo town, en-route to Masvingo to see the Ancient City - Great Zimbabwe. Check in at your hotel, a picturesque property in the foothills of Great Zimbabwe with magnificent views of Lake Muturikwi. After lunch (own account) visit the Great Zimbabwe Monument to explore the secrets of the ancient ruins. The Great Zimbabwe Ruins is a World Heritage Site and one of the most important archaeological sites in Africa. Return to your hotel in the late afternoon and enjoy dinner (own account). Armadale Lodge or similar (B) 70 Day 9, 10 & 11 | Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday HARARE to MANA POOLS NATIONAL PARK (Charter flight ±1 hour 45 minutes) 2 FULL DAYS IN MANA POOLS NATIONAL PARK After an early breakfast you will depart for your scheduled air transfer by light charter to your luxury mobile camp in Mana Pools National Park. Enjoy 2 and a half days to explore this pristine wilderness on foot and in the specially adapted game drive vehicles. Mana Pools National Park is synonymous with the Zambezi River, the elephants, lions and unspoilt wilderness. This unique park is a World Heritage Site, reknowned for its wide-range of wildlife which includes over 350 bird species and aquatic wildlife. Dome/A-Frame Style Tented Camp in Mana Pools (LDB) Day 12 & 13 | Thursday & Friday MANA POOLS NATIONAL PARK to MATUSADONA NATIONAL PARK (Charter Flight ±45 minutes) 1 FULL DAY IN MATUSADONA NATIONAL PARK After breakfast your guide will take you on your final game drive as you head out of Mana Pools National Park to the airstrip. You will be transferred by light aircraft to Rokari Airstrip at Matusadona National Park. Here you will be met by your guide from Rhino Island Safari Camp. Proceed by boat across the estuary to Rhino Island Safari Camp where you will spend the last 2 nights of your safari. Rhino Island, a rustic but comfortable safari camp with thatched chalets built on stilts, is situated on the shoreline of Lake Kariba and on the edge of Matusadona National Park. Guests can look forward to rhino tracking, game drives and bush walks. Boating and fishing can be arranged on request. Rhino Island Safari Camp - (LDB) Day 14 | Saturday MATUSADONA NATIONAL PARK to HARARE AIRPORT (Charter flight ±1 hour 45 minutes) After breakfast your guide will escort you across the estuary to Rokari Airstrip. You will be transferred by light aircraft to Harare International Airport in time to check in for your onward arrangements.
