All-Star Finds Her Voice in ASAS Leadership Role

All-Star Finds Her Voice in
ASAS Leadership Role
Malaysia Breedlove remembers starting
off as the “shy kid” prior to joining ASAS.
With a little encouragement from our site
coordinator, Camille Harris, Malaysia
joined ASAS and says the program has
opened her mind to a whole new world.
With ASAS, Malaysia has gained new
skills and experiences beyond what she
was learning in the classroom. She had
her first experience serving the
community and even applied for her first
scholarship with the help of Ms. Harris,
who has become like a second mother
to Malaysia.
Now, six years after being a part of the
ASAS family, Malaysia has blossomed
into a confident leader, who uses her
passions and talents to teach dance
choreography to other students in the
program. Malaysia plans to pursue a law
degree upon graduation and says,
“ASAS has built my confidence and
opened up my mind to all the kinds of
paths I can take. I now believe I can do
anything I put my mind to.”
