Kitten Litter

JOINT MONTHLY PROJECT BY
Kitten Litter
2015
Shelly Hazard
Cindy’s cat, Precious, had a litter of seven kittens last
month. Cindy’s family decided that they would keep
just two of the kittens and so reluctantly they found
homes for the other five. By happy coincidence, five
kids in Cindy’s class all wanted kittens (except for
Tommy, he wanted a puppy). Since their parents
agreed, Cindy brought the kittens into school one day
and the other kids all picked out their new pal.
Determine the full name of the kids who adopted the
kittens, the color of each kitten, and the name each
kitten received from their new pals.
First day 1
March
1. Rachel didn’t pick the black kitten but
she did name her new kitten Fluffy.
2. The kitten named Socks was gray. Peter
Atlas didn’t name his kitten Holly.
3. Ms. Danbury, whose first name wasn’t
Lucy, picked a black kitten.
4. Muffin wasn’t an orange tiger kitten but
was named by a boy. Rachel’s last
name wasn’t Weatherby.
5. Oliver, whose last name wasn’t Gunther,
got the calico kitten but he didn’t name
her Rascal.
6. The five kids were Miranda, the one
whose last name was Valle, the kid who
got the white kitten, the boy who named
