THE SEASON OF LENT RITE OF ELECTION This year there are six people who are preparing to become full members of our Church. Caroline and Steve will be baptised and Pauline, Desmond, Oliver and Sona will be Confirmed at our Easter Vigil. Today, the First Sunday of Lent, they will travel to Northampton to meet Bishop Peter who will call them to be The Elect, those chosen to become full members of the Church. We wish them well and offer them our prayers and support STATIONS OF THE CROSS Each Wednesday, Deacon Graham will lead the Stations of the Cross at 7.30pm. Each Friday members of the UCM will lead the Stations of the Cross at 12 noon. This will be followed by soup and bread roll in St. Joseph’s Room. All proceeds to Cafod YEAR OF MERCY TALKS On Tuesday evening Mrs Maura Appelbe shared with those gathered her thoughts and reflections on where Mercy is found and practised within the nursing profession. Our Collection for Cafod will take place at all Masses next weekend. IN THIS YEAR OF MERCY Pope Francis is asking us to use this Jubilee Year to rejoice in the mercy that the Father shows us. In this context, a wonderful gift that God and the Church gives us is the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession). Bishop Peter would like to share the joy of the gift with us in this Year of Mercy and so he is visiting each Pastoral Area to lead a Service of Reconciliation that includes individual Confession. Our Service will be taking place at HOLY REDEEMER CHURCH, WEXHAM on Tuesday, 16th February (7.30p.m.) and all the priests of the Area will be attending. PARENTS OF CHILDREN PREPARING FOR RECONCILIATION AND EUCHARIST attended a Reconciliation service or individual confessions this weekend. The children will celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Saturday 20th at 10.30am UCM will meet on Thursday 18th.
