WINDOW GUIDE
WINDOW PANELS
west elm offers multiple window panels to help complete the
room with the perfect window treatment. They may be used
alone or layered together for added texture and richness.
To allow natural light to filter into the room while still maintaining a
level of privacy, sheer neutral panels are a perfect option. At the
other end of the spectrum, our Opaque Linen or Silk Dupioni
panels offer the highest level of privacy with their rich and
colorful texture. For the best of both, layer an opaque panel over
a sheer – this will allow natural light to enter during the day,
and provide privacy and darkness at night.
west elm window panels come in five lengths:

44”

63”
5 ¼ feet
84”
7 feet (most popular length)
96”
8 feet
108”
9 feet (perfect for floor-to-ceiling windows)
Our window panels are finished with different methods for hanging. The most common finish is a pole-pocket top,
accommodating a simple hardware pole for hanging. While a pole-pocket is popular, these panels may also be hung with
clips – another type of hardware offered. Some of our window panels have fitted steel grommets to slide across the pole
instead of a pocket. west elm also offers some tie-top finishes on certain window panels.
WINDOW HARDWARE
Rods, finials and holdbacks are the finishing touches for your windows. Wooden finishes give your window a classic look
and pair well with heavier drapes. Metal finishes are a bit more contemporary, making a versatile match for a wide range
of drapery. To finish the look, add coordinating holdbacks.

WINDOW HARDWARE ACCESSORIES
DOUBLE ROD CONVERSION KITS:
Conversion Kits are used to layer drapery. Sheer drapes can be hung behind heavier drapery for versatility
in regulating light and privacy.
TIEBACKS:
Tiebacks are used to pull drapery away from the window in a stylish drape. Tiebacks are available in styles to
match or coordinate with our finials.
RING CLIPS:
Rings are used to hang sheer and unlined drapery. Loop rings are used only with our lined rod pocket drapery,
which includes drapery hooks for this purpose.
HOLDBACKS:
Used to keep drapes open, holdbacks also affect the look of your window treatments. A low-mount tieback
covers more of the window, giving the drape a fuller look; a high-mount tieback allows added light and
appears more tailored.
