Craig White
General Manager
So at this time of year we are
usually coming out of a deep
freeze with the air temperature
warming and the snow melting.
Not so much this year, we have
had a few rough days but not
too many. It has been a little
rough on our contractors
because of the mild winter. Their
expectations were to have the
opportunity to work with frozen
ground. So with the mild winter
has caused them to work in mud,
which in turn has caused some
areas to look not so appealing.
The contractors have done a
good job keeping the park
roads clean from the mud when
they could. We appreciate
your patience through this
construction season. We also
would like your continued
support by staying away
from those areas that are
considered active work zones.
Those two areas are at the
end of cabin road for the
tree house village and base
camp where the aerial
adventure park is being built.
So as the snow melts away
we will continue to work to
keep the park clean and your
experience an enjoyable
one. On another note,
because of the mild winter,
during these days of 60
degree temperatures we
have seen new people,
couples and pets enjoying the
park. As we are generally
stuck in our homes during the
winter months we want to get
out and stretch our legs so to
speak and get some fresh air.
We hope that you have
enjoyed walking through our
beautiful park and ask that if
you have questions regarding
the park you stop in the office
at the banquet hall and
speak to our friendly staff.
They can assist you with
navigating through the park
easier by explaining how our
trail system is labeled for
your enjoyment. Three of our
trail heads begin by the
office and they are the only
working restrooms until the
cold season is over. So we
want you to explore the park
when you step outside this
spring, we ask that you keep
yourself and your loved ones
safe by staying away from
the active work zones.
Something to keep in mind
when you take that first walk
for the season, bring a bottle
of water with you and stay
hydrated. Thank you for
visiting Grand Vue Park, we
look forward to seeing all of
you this season and

Grand Vue Park Trails Land on the Map
We are very proud to announce that
our trail system has landed on the
West Virginia Trail Inventory! Now our
park goers can navigate the 2 and 4
mile walking trails or the mountain bike
trail with ease. Here’s how you can
use you smart phone to discover the
trails at Grand Vue Park. First make
sure your location services are turned
on in your Safari app and search for
the West Virginia Trail Inventory. It
will bring up every marked trail in the
state. Next zoom in on Marshall Co
and you can click on one of the 3
trails (in red) we have to offer.
Tap the find my location feature
to track your walk or ride. This
website can be saved to your
home screen and will act as an
app for your long term use. We
would like to especially thank Kurt
and David Donaldson from the
WVU GIS Technical Center for
their help. They will be back in
May to update all of the new
mountain bike trails and produce
a new physical map of the park.
