Harmony is a 39 year old woman who has three incredible boys and came to Ernestine’s in
September. John is 15, Randy is 6 and David is 3. John is in grade 10 and loves sports and is currently
playing on the school football team. He has many talents like playing the piano and learnt how to
play by ear. Randy is in grade one at a French immersion school and enjoys playing with toy cars,
puzzles and has a love for soccer. David is in daycare and is a very active toddler who loves to play
with firetrucks and big Tonka type trucks. Harmony has her hands full with these three active boys.

Compassion is a 46 year old mother of two exceptional boys, Tim who is age 16, and James who is 14.
This family came to Ernestine’s in February. Tim is in his final year of high school and is very
committed to doing well and all summer worked for a catering company. Tim is adored by many of
the young children in house. James just entered grade nine this year and is a very kind and funny
young man. He loves playing his PS4 and recently saved and bought his own computer games which
he plays with his new friends. Compassion is a very dedicated mother and helps the cook in house
prep meals for everyone and has recently found a job. She is very grateful for all the help with her
family.

She loves everything to do with music, pop culture and snap chat (she adores the filters). Ivan just
started Jr. Kindergarten and he is a very energetic and fun child. He loves to play with cars and all
kinds of sports. Will is very busy tending to her 2 children and with little spare time she has she is
trying to finish her high school diploma to pursue a job with TTC.

Knowledge is a 30 year old woman who has an adorable little girl named Jenny who just celebrated
her first birthday at the shelter. They have been at Ernestine’s since November and Jenny currently
stays at home with mom and is learning how to walk as Mom teaches a lot of programs to Jenny.
Mom is hoping she can teach little Jenny how to play the piano too. Jenny is extremely loved and
adored by everyone in the house. Knowledge is rocking motherhood and is very hands on with her
daughter. Knowledge is currently looking for work so she can support herself and her daughter.

Life is a 37 years old woman who came to Ernestine’s in January. She has a son named Ian who is 4
years old. Ian is a super imaginative and creative child who loves animals, Power Rangers and
singing. He currently just entered Jr. Kindergarten and is loving it. Life is a wonderful mother who is
currently going to school for the Medical Office Administrator program. Once she completes her
course she is hoping to find a position as a medical secretary.

Dignity is a 37 year old mother of one adorable toddler named Neil who is 2 years old. They came to
Ernestine’s back in February and Neil is in daycare and obsessed with cars! Neil is a very active
toddler who loves to play with the other children in house. Dignity whenever she is not busy chasing
her little one around she is volunteering a lot of her time for different organizations in the area to
gain valuable experience.

Zeal is a mother of three amazing children. She has an 18 year old daughter who is living
independently in the house, her son Edward who is 10 and her youngest child Ellen who is 4. They
came to Ernestine’s in April. Edward is in grade 5 and loves all things that are science, zombie and
computer based. He is extremely intelligent and friendly. Ellen just started Junior Kindergarten and
her favourite colour is pink and loves My Little Pony and creating endless creations out of Play Doh.
Zeal has her hands full with three children but is doing everything she can to make them feel at
home.

Unity is a 42 year old woman who has two children, Sam who is 12 years old and her daughter
Victoria who is 5 years old. They came to Ernestine’s in June. Unity is an incredible woman and does
not speak English but has figured out her own form of sign language to help communicate with staff.
She is also attending English classes to help her learn. Her son Sam also does not speak English well
but is attending school and trying his best. He really enjoys playing on his tablet and catching up on
his social media. Her daughter Victoria also does speak English and she is very outgoing. She
absolutely loves dancing and singing to all the Top 40 hits that are on the radio. She also really loves
anything to do with princesses especially Frozen.

Love is a 26 year old single woman who came to Ernestine’s in April. Love is a very kind, intelligent
and caring person. She is a huge help to all the women in house who have young children. Love is
working on her education at moment and job hunting. When we celebrated Eid at the shelter, Love
helped and cooked with the chef to make traditional meals that were delicious and everyone enjoyed
the celebration.

Imagine is a 29 year old single woman who came to Ernestine’s in April. Imagine is a very funny,
outgoing and supportive woman. She is currently working and attending school. In her spare time
when she is not in the library studying she comes home to help the other women take care of their
children and hang out with her new found friends in house. She has a great personality and many of
the women gravitate towards her.

Power is a 56 year old single woman who came to Ernestine’s in August. Power loves painting and is
very creative. She enjoys hanging out in the main space to chat with the other women and playing
with the children who are home. Power is a very kind and caring person.

Faith is a 42 year old woman and has a daughter Anna who is 13 years old. They came to Ernestine’s
in August. Anna is in grade 8, she is very social and enjoys hanging out with the other youth in house.
She is into fashion and pop culture. Faith is a dedicated mom, who is quiet and kind.

Strength is a 25 year old single woman who came to Ernestine’s in August. She is extremely kind and
caring to everyone in house. At dinner she sits with the youth and chats with them about what
happened during the day and helps them. Strength is looking at different schools she might want to
attend. She is hoping to get into a nursing or health care program.
