Year 9 – 13 – Geography Magazine Subscriptions – Second Opportunity
I wrote to you earlier in the year to advise you of the opportunity to purchase a geography
magazine subscription for your son/daughter who is studying Geography at GCSE or A Level
to help them widen their understanding through reading around the subject. There has been a
great deal of interest in these subscriptions this year, but also some disappointed students who
did not subscribe by the original deadline. I am therefore extending the deadline until after
the Christmas holidays to allow for a second opportunity to buy this subscription.
A reminder: Wide World is a Geography magazine aimed at students currently studying the
subject or considering continuing it at GCSE level. Geography Review is a magazine aimed
at students studying the subject at A Level. Both magazines contain useful articles, advice
about fieldwork and examinations and ideas about future employment. I am pleased to offer
your child the opportunity to subscribe to either magazine at a discounted rate.
The magazines are published by Hodder Education. More information regarding the content
of these magazines can be found at www.hoddereducation.co.uk
Wide World (recommended for GCSE students and students in Year 9) is published four
times a year and an annual subscription is available for £10.00.
Geography Review (recommended for A Level students) is published four times a year and
an annual subscription is available for £15.00.
Please note that the closing date for this subscription is now Monday 9th Jan 2017, after
which point no further payments will be accepted.

If paying by cash or cheque, please put your payment in an envelope which should be labelled with
the name of the trip, your child’s name, form and the amount enclosed. We would appreciate your
cooperation by requesting that your child places the response slip in the trips box, which is located at
Student Services.
All outstanding payments must be with the school a minimum of four weeks prior to the start date of
the trip unless an earlier payment date is stated on the original letter.
