LIVE AUCTION INSTRUCTIONS
1. The live auction will begin at 8:00 PM, April 12, 2014 and continue, without
interruption, until all items have been auctioned.
2. Bid numbers will not be assigned. The bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer
will be considered the high bidder until the next bid increment is achieved and
a new bidder is recognized. The auctioneer has sole discretion in recognizing the
high bidder among those raising their paddles.
3. In order to enter a bid, the bidder must raise his or her paddle high and attract
the attention of the auctioneer. This must be repeated for each increase on a
bid. Each bid legally obligates the bidder to pay for his or her bid price in full at
the end of the evening, if his or her bid is deemed the high bid at the fall of the
auctioneer’s hammer.
4. The auctioneer will acknowledge the highest bidder. If the auctioneer
determines that an opening bid or any subsequent bid is not commensurate with
the value of the item(s) being offered, he may reject the same and withdraw
the item(s) from sale; and if, having acknowledged an opening bid, he decides
that an advance thereafter is not of sufficient amount, he reserves the right to
withdraw the item(s). The auctioneer reserves the right to announce conditions
of sales at any time. In the event of any dispute, the auctioneer will have the sole
and final discretion in this matter.
5. On the fall of the auctioneer’s hammer, title to the item and/or service will pass
to the highest bidder who assumes full risk and responsibility.
6. Winning bidders will be asked to sign the bid sheet accepting responsibility
for the entire bid price. Winning bidders who wish to split the payment of a
catalog package must let the head runner know immediately after the winner is
announced. The bid sheet will then be signed by all bidders with their portions of
the bid amount before the bid sheet goes to the checkout center. The winning
bidder is responsible for obtaining all signatures or for full payment. Please allow
30 minutes after the live auction ends before checking out.
7. Payment may be made with cash, personal check, Visa, MasterCard,
Discover and American Express. Checks should be made payable to: NorthEast
Foundation. All items must be paid in full before the close of the evening.

To ensure our auction runs smoothly and to help you successfully bid on these special
items, here are a few suggestions:
1. Each guest is assigned a bid number on the bottom of your ticket. If you do not
have your ticket, please locate a Foundation representative near the Silent Auction
tables.
2. Take advantage of an exciting feature of our annual Silent Auction – especially
if you tire of bidding over and over for something that you simply MUST have! By
choosing the GUARANTEED BID, the silent auction item becomes yours immediately.
3. The opening bid must be equal to or in excess of the designated minimum bid.
Each increase in bid must be equal to or in excess of the minimum raise stated on
the Bid Sheet. The only exception is the Guaranteed Bid, which automatically wins
the bid at any time it appears on the Bid Sheet. The Guaranteed Bid allows the
bidder to purchase the item at a stated price and is considered the winning bid.
4. The Silent Auction bidding will close at 10:30 PM. Checkout will begin at 10:45 PM.
The closing bid circled by the auction official constitutes the winning bid. The highest
