Here, a complete range of products Made in Italy will be presented, intended for this market and formulated to satisfy even consumers who eat only vegetarian foods. That is why Granarolo is relying heavily on cheese aged for more than 10 months, made only with Italian milk, and on gelato. Both products, in addition to being true symbols of Italy, can boast the green label, which the country issues only to purely vegetarian products. The expected objective is to increase notoriety and penetration of the Granarolo brand in India, and to accredit European Foods India as a reference supplier for imported, authentically Italian products, capable of generating value for clients and the local market with a preferential offer in terms of taste and service. The range chosen by Granarolo Group to represent products Made in Italy at the Fair is the following: Italian fresh cheeses, particularly burrata and frozen buffalo mozzarella, long-life mascarpone, capable of satisfying the needs of a demanding Ho.Re.Ca. sector, inspired by chefs with international experience. Aged Italian cheeses: Gran Opera - a cheese made with Italian milk only - aged for more than 10 months, lysozyme free, and with microbial rennet, ideal on pasta or as an ingredient in salads and vegetarian dishes. Gorgonzola and Provola Affumicata, appreciated for their flavour and inspired by Italian cheese-making tradition. UHT cream for whipping and UHT béchamel, ideal for pastries and sophisticated cuisine. The range of Italian Gelato made with fresh High Quality milk: 6 fresh flavours with a creamy consistency for a pleasantly unique experience. UHT vegetable drinks, organic and vegan precooked dishes, traditional grissini bread sticks, innovative cheese-based snacks with microbial rennet, balsamic vinegar, semolina pasta, and highprotein egg pasta. “We have important demands for Italian products in India, a country with more than one billion inhabitants, concentrated mainly in large cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad where Italian cuisine has gained significant popularity in recent years”, said Granarolo Group President Gianpiero Calzolari. "With European Foods India, we have found a distributor that is ready to combine Italian tradition and innovation, with a good customer base made mainly of large chains in the Ho.Re.Ca. sector, interested in bringing products Made in Italy and safe and quality Italian ingredients closer. Only with the backing of a production chain of farmers and controlling an entire productive chain, from the stable to the table, it was possible to tailor our products to the more specific demands of Indian consumers. Our wish is to grow on a market with significant potential, representing the best of products Made in Italy. We are working on participation in an institutional mission in India from 26 to 28 April. The Aahar Trade Fair and the mission will be opportunities to create important synergies with this extraordinary country". *** Granarolo Group The Granarolo Group, one of the top players in the Italian food and agriculture sector, includes two different and synergic parts: a consortium of milk producers - Granlatte - operating in the agricultural sector and collecting the raw material, and a joint stock company - Granarolo S.p.A. - which processes and sells the milk produced at 16 facilities throughout Italy, 2 facilities in France, 1 in Chile, 2 in Brazil and 1 in New Zealand. The Granarolo group is therefore the most important milk supply chain in Italy, with producer cooperatives as its major shareholders. It unites approximately 1,000 dairy farmers, an organisation of milk collection from farms with 70 vehicles, 1,200 vehicles for distribution delivering 850,000 metric tonnes a year and every day serving some 50,000 points of sale where almost 11 million Italian families buy Granarolo products. The Granarolo Group’s mission is to export the tradition and know-how of Italian-made specialties (dairy and nondairy). Indeed, the Group has diversified its portfolio in recent years. The Group’s in-house laboratories analyse the entire production chain daily, from the milk to the finished product, to guarantee that consumers receive quality products based on high safety standards. The Group also outsources quality control to international certification bodies, which are qualified and guaranteed by the International Food Standard (IFS), the British Retail Consortium (BRC) and the EU organic food certification (CCPB Consortium for the Control of Organic Products). The production process has been ISO 9001 quality management certified since 2002. At 31/12/2015, the Granarolo Group employed more than 2,400 workers. 77.48% of the Group is owned by the Granlatte Consortium, 19.78% by Intesa Sanpaolo and the remaining 2.74% by Cooperlat. In 2016, the Group’s turnover will be about one billion and two hundred million Euros. www.granarologroup.com *** Granarolo S.p.A.
