Judo, which is translated as the "gentle way", teaches the principle of flexibility in the application of technique. This is the flexible
or efficient use of balance, leverage, and movement in the performance of Judo throws and other skills. Skill, technique and timing, rather than the use of brute strength, are the essential ingredients for success in Judo.
At our YMCA the Regina Y Judo Club coaches Judo through volunteers. They have a history of producing high performance athletes
that compete at a National and International level.
For more information and to register for this Program you can
contact Andrew Yuen at [email protected], or see

The YMCA of Regina is
offering Summer Day Camp
Programs July and August
YMCA Inclusive Summer Programs are so much more than just
fun in the sun. Our camps have a structure and routine of active living and recreation. Campers will enjoy outdoor activities,
sports, swimming, and outings into the community, in addition
to explorations into the creative arts, science, and key concepts
of healthy living (physical activity and nutrition).
Inclusive Summer Day Camp Programs
Thanks to our partnership with the Autism
Resource Centre (ARC) we are proud to provide campers with an inclusive summer experience in which campers gain new skills,
challenge personal limits and have fun. Both
our Downtown and Northwest day camps are
open to all young people including those with
diverse abilities. All campers participate together in the same programs and social skills
education.
This summer, we are continuing with the
YMCA Value Bead Program which encourages
campers to consider the YMCA of Regina
Core Values of Honesty, Caring, Respect, Responsibility, and Inclusiveness and incorporate these values into
their daily behaviours and actions. Camp Counselors watch for and encourage these positive behaviours
throughout the day, and reward campers daily with Value Beads during a Bead Ceremony.

Birthday Parties
Location: Northwest & East
The YMCA offers a fantastic venue for children to spend their
birthday parties away from home. The YMCA will provide a
party host to orient party families and guests with the facility,
provide and set up equipment, and answer any questions that
may arise. A party includes two 45 minute blocks each in an
activity area of your choice. Trained staff will help parents facilitate the play experiences chosen for their party while parents will be responsible to supervise activities and
guests. Your party will then spend 60 minutes in the party
room enjoying whatever food you provide, opening presents
and playing. Please note that the YMCA of Regina is a nut free
organization and adheres to a total nut free policy.
