ACT Application
Applications for the Accelerated Certification for Teachers (ACT) program are accepted
through April 1st for the June cohort. No late applications will be considered.
Requirements
Applicants must:
Hold a B.S. or B.A. (a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75)
Meet with ACT advisor each semester
Have passing scores on the Praxis I - CORE Academic Skills for Educators exam
Be available for intensive full-time enrollment and daytime practicum experiences
Be admitted to the Graduate College

NOTE: ACT candidates must meet UNO admission requirements for Graduate Studies. A waiver for
the request for teacher certification can be obtained by emailing Dr. Kathy Danielson

ACT candidates will enroll in an 18-month program of study which begins with the June summer
sessions and continues through December of the following academic year. All accepted candidates
must complete a background check and purchase Live Text. Please contact Ms. Lorraine Street at
