The new €5 “Planet Earth” collector coin

On 5 February 2016, Parliamentary State Secretary Michael Meister presented the new € 5 Planet Earth collector coin at
the World Money Fair in Berlin.
This new coin is not only the first ever €5 coin to be released
by Germany, it is also the world’s first coin to be made with
a special combination of metal and polymer components.
