CLUB
E.D.G. (Endurance Downunder Group), hereafter called the PROMOTER will conduct Round 1 of the
KTM Pony Express Series at Simmonds Road Tarome, near Aratula on Sunday 5th June 2016.
E.D.G. (Endurance Downunder Group), hereafter called the PROMOTER will conduct Round 2 of the
KTM Pony Express Series at MOORANG, near Aratula on Sunday 28TH AUGUST 2016.
The Toowoomba Motorcycle Club (TMCC), hereafter called the PROMOTER will conduct Round 3 of
the KTM Pony Express Series at 21 Kherim Road, Murphy’s Creek, near Toowoomba on Saturday 22
October 2016. Queensland Enduro Presentation night will be held at the facilities on the evening after
the event. Camping will be allowed and encouraged.

The abovementioned meetings have been authorised by Motorcycling Queensland (MQ) who has
issued the Motorcycling Australia Permit Numbers (above) and are open to holders of current
Motorcycling Australia National, Mini and One Meeting Licences (OML to junior riders if they hold a
current JCP Log Book), who are financial members of the Participating Club.
The meetings will be held in accordance with the current Manual of Motorcycle Sport General
Competition Rules (GCR’s) these Supplementary Regulations, and any Final Instructions approved by
MQ.
BY ENTERING A MEETING ALL PARTIES AGREE TO COMPLY WITH THESE RULES,
REGULATIONS, BY-LAWS AND INSTRUCTIONS.

Entries on the weekend of the event will only be accepted as a paper copy THAT IS ACCOMPANIED
BY THE CORRECT FEE AS CASH, CHEQUE OR MONEY ORDER. THERE IS NO EFTPOS
FACILITY ON SITE.
A separate online nomination or entry form and participant declaration must be completed for each
round.
ONLY ENTRIES RECEIVED ON THE OFFICIAL ENTRY FORM (or electronic nomination) THAT IS
ACCOMPANIED BY THE CORRECT FEE WILL BE ACCEPTED.
In the case of postponement or abandonment of a meeting, all or any part of the entry fee may be
retained by the Promoter, if such retention is approved by MQ.
Withdrawals: Entrants wishing to withdraw from the event must notify the race secretary by phone or
email by 5pm on the Wednesday before the meeting in order to receive a refund (less 5%
administration fee).
National Personal Accident Scheme provides basic cover for death and permanent disability.
Ambulance Insurance is compulsory for licensees.
IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT COMPETITORS GIVE CONSIDERATION TO TAKING
OUT WEEKLY BENEFITS INSURANCE.
MEDICAL SERVICES:
As required by Motorcycling Queensland’s insurer, the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) and or Event
First Aid will be in attendance at the meetings prior to racing beginning & until 15 minutes after the conclusion of
racing.

- Seniors - $90 including transponder hire and timing expenses.
- Juniors - $70 including transponder hire and timing expenses.
Entries received after this 9 day date will be:
- Seniors - $120 including transponder hire and timing expenses.
- Juniors - $100 including transponder hire and timing expenses.
Riders with their own transponders pay $10 less. – Round 1 all riders pay $10 less as no Transponders
will be used at that event.
ONLINE payments can be made when you nominate online via www.queenslandenduro.com.au
NOTE: Credit card payments INCUR A 3.3% HANDLING FEE. Only MasterCard and Visa will be
accepted.
Payment by Cash, Cheque or Money Order only on the day. ANY FEES FOR DISHONOURED
CHEQUES WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ENTRANT.
Cheques and Money Orders are to be made payable to the relevant Promoter for the round being
entered.

AWARDS AND PRIZEMONEY:
Trophies will be awarded to the first 3 placegetters in all Senior classes and the first 4 placegetters in
Junior classes.
Prizemoney is NOT paid for this series.

11.
ENTRIES TO CONSTITUTE A CLASS:
11.1. Should there be insufficient entries in any Class of Competition, the decision to run or cancel the Class,
or to combine events and redistribute any awards and / or prizemoney, will be at the discretion of the
Promoter, subject to MQ approval.
12.
RACE FORMAT BIKES:
12.1. All Bikes will race in the Pony Express format.
12.2. Classes A, B, C, D, E, H, J, L, M, N, O, Q are for teams of Two riders – Two bikes OR Two Riders –
One bike OR One rider – One bike. Solo riders may enter these classes.
12.3. Race Duration (unless deemed unsafe, the Promoter may call the race).
- Juniors 3 hours
- Seniors 5 hours
12.4.
STARTS:
12.4.1 Rider “A” begins the race at a Le Mans start and only this rider may cause the bike to move
forward from the start.
12.4.2 Another person may hold the machine on the start line.
12.4.3 Engines may be running while on the start line.
12.4.4 There is a separate start for each class in alphabetical order at 2 minute intervals between each
class.
12.5. Teams will be required to change riders each lap.
12.6. If a team member is injured (medical report required), then the remaining rider may continue but the
injured rider may take no further part in the race.
12.7. If using two bikes, riders and bikes MUST change each lap and riders or bikes MUST touch during the
changeover WITHIN the designated changeover area.

MACHINES AND RIDERS:

All machines entered must comply with the current GCR’s for Enduro Style Competition.
Any Enduro, Motocross or Trail motorcycle may be used, registration is unnecessary.
Change of machine during competition is not permitted.
All A Grade Motocross riders are automatically PROs, and B Grade are EXPERTs.
If a team enters two different capacity machines, they will be entered in the larger capacity class.
Helmets are mandatory and all persons (including officials) using a Bike, Trike or Quad at any Event
must be wearing a properly secured Helmet.
13.7. Single riders may enter as Ironmen or as solo riders within the other classes.
14.
SOUND TESTING:
An effective muffler must be fitted; all machines may be subject to sound testing as per GCR’s 17.15.
15.
RIDING NUMBERS:
15.1. All teams must have the same number and it is suggested that the lowest number be used with an “A”
for the starting rider and a “B” for the other rider.
15.2. All bikes MUST have race numbers on front plate and side plates (2) with an “A” for rider A, and a “B”
for rider B as there are no transponders for round 1.
15.3. For the Ironman class, riders will be provided with a piece of contact marked “G” on it. This is to be
affixed to their front numberplate.
15.4. Competitors without a QLD Enduro riding number will be allocated a number on the day by the
club/Promoter at sign on.
15.5. It is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure that rider numbers are displayed correctly and easily
discernible to the scorers for the duration of racing.
16.
TRANSPONDERS: (Rounds 2 & 3 – Manual Scoring Round 1)
16.1. Electronic timing will be utilised at Rounds 2 & 3 and it is compulsory for all competitors.
16.2. It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure that the transponder is mounted correctly and securely on
their machine to prevent damage from, and fouling of, other components on their machine.
16.3. It is the competitor’s (or the parent/guardian for junior competitors), responsibility to ensure that the
correct transponder is on the correct machine prior to each event.
16.4. Transponders must be picked up and returned to the designated person and the competitor required to
provide their MA licence in exchange for a timing transponder.
16.5. When a transponder is transferred to a competitor it then becomes the responsibility of the competitor
to pay for any repairs or replacement costs if the transponder becomes damaged or lost in their care.

18.
RIDERS BRIEFING:
18.1. A Riders Briefing will be held prior to the commencement of racing and ALL Competitors MUST attend
the Riders Briefing.
18.2. RIDERS BRIEFING IS A NON SMOKING AREA.
18.3. Competitors under the age of 18 years MUST be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
19.
DRUG AND OR ALCOHOL TESTING:
19.1. All competitors and officials are advised that as part of the MA drug education program, drug testing
may take place at any competition in accordance with Australian Sports Commission policy as
implemented by the Australian Sports Drug Agency.
19.2. If any doubts exist over banned substances it is recommended competitors telephone the Drugs in
Sport Hotline 1800 020506. When drug testing takes place, the payment of prizemoney may be
delayed at Motorcycling QLD’s discretion until the results of the tests are known.
19.3. For the purpose of drug & alcohol testing, the commencement of the meeting will be deemed to be
6.45am with the completion of the meeting for the participant being when the participant has vacated
the venue.
20.
CODE OF CONDUCT:
All Competitors, Officials and Parents are reminded of the Motorcycling Australia By-Law - CODE OF
CONDUCT (as stipulated in the GCR’s) which is a guide to appropriate behaviour at all Motorcycle Race
Meetings. This CODE OF CONDUCT applies to this Meeting and will be enforced. Abusive behaviour will not
be tolerated by anybody, especially out on the track to your fellow sweep officials and volunteers.

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION:
22.1. Natural bush terrain with marking by arrows and tape.
22.2. Lap Time: Approximately 25 – 35 minutes per lap for Seniors, including Ladies.
22.3. Juniors are on a separate track to Senior riders with a lap time being approximately 15 – 20 minutes.

23.1. Every bike must use an approved enviromat as per MOMS 14.14.11.1 J (Page 169)
23.2. EACH RIDER MUST Supply a minimum 1KG Powder Fire Extinguisher at their refuelling area.
24.
ONE MEETING LICENCES:
24.1. Available at sign on $60. NB, ALL RIDERS ARE TO BE A MEMBER OF A PARTICIPATING CLUB
24.2. COMPETENCY TESTS AND CARDS – To obtain a one meeting licence, you must either hold a MQ
Competency Card or obtain one.
To qualify for a Competency Card, you must have either (i) previously held a MA Licence, (ii) Hold a current
road motorcycle licence, (iii) Attended an approved motorcycle coaching course, (iv) demonstrated competency
at a club day, or pass a competency test at the track on the Saturday.
24.3. FIRST TIME JUNIORS Junior participants who want to participate in a meeting by taking out a One
Meeting Competition Licence must have completed Kick Start and have been issued with a Log Book

25.
RACING:
25.1. The Winners in each senior class will be the riders who complete the most laps in five hours in the least
time.
25.2. The winners in the Junior Classes and will be the riders who complete the most number of laps in three
hours in the least time.
25.3. If a series points tie cannot be resolved by rules 12.14.0.3 and 12.14.0.4, then the relevant rider’s
finishing times (for events where they competed against each other) will be compared. If a tie still
exists, then the placing at the last round will determine the order.
25.4. The event may be shortened at the discretion of the Clerk of Course or the Steward on the day if the
track conditions deteriorate.
26.
FINISHING:
26.1. Pro and Experts – Minimum 50% of class winners laps and cross the finish line within one hour of the
official class finish time.
26.2. Veterans, Clubman, Ironman, Masters, Ladies and Juniors – Minimum 50% of class winners laps OR
cross the finish line within one hour of the official class finish time.
26.3. Any rider/team NOT crossing the finish line ON OR AFTER the official class finish time can only score a
maximum of five series points.
27.
SPECIAL NOTES AND WARNINGS:
27.1. Dogs (other than Guide Dogs) are not permitted.
27.2. Presentations: On the day, after competition.
27.3. For team entries – If one partner is injured the remaining partner may compete once as a Solo entry
and series points will be allocated to both partners as a team from the result.
27.4. Any queries or rule interpretations including the application of penalties, should be referred in the first
instance to the Clerk of Course, and if further clarification is necessary, advice may be sought from the
QESC members present on the day of the Event.
27.5. Camping is permissible at each round the night before the event (signage will be displayed on site).
27.6. Catering is available on the day at each round.
27.7. Please bring you own water, there is no running water on site.
27.8. Contained fires may be allowed by the landholder, however all due care and attention is advisable. Fire
restrictions will be available from the race secretary at the event.
27.9. Please remove all of your rubbish, there is no facility for disposal.
