Super Hero Assignment
1. Create a Superhero (or a villain)
 Superhero will be drawn on a printer size piece of paper.
 Superhero will be described using figurative language.
 Draw (print) and label your superhero using figurative language.
 Labels should include what type of figurative language it is. For example, you may write “Eyes
as blue as the sky (S)”, and draw a line to your hero’s eyes.
 You should include at least 6 examples of figurative language in your labels, and each type
must be used at least once (metaphor, simile, alliteration, personification, onomatopoeia,
hyperbole).
Write about your superhero
2. Part one is your character’s story. Where did he/she
come from? How did he/she get these powers?
What motivates him/her to do the things he/she
does? Does she/ he have a secret identity? What is
it? Does he/she have any weaknesses? Use at least 3
examples of figurative language here while
indicating which type of figurative language it was.
3. Part two is about your character’s characteristics.
What powers does he/she have? How do they use
them? Why do they save (or hurt) people? Use at
least 3 examples of figurative language here while
indicating which type of figurative language it was.
4. Jingle - Your last activity is a small jingle (between
4-6 lines) that would be sung at the beginning of a
cartoon about your hero (using figurative language
techniques). [Think of the Spiderman tune]. You can
put your jingle to the tune of a real song. Use and
label at least 4 examples of figurative language here.
Your assignment must include a minimum of 16 examples of figurative language
