In Case You Missed the Meeting
March Meeting:
Grove City’s Development
From Crops to Industry—It’s Not
Farmland Anymore!
March’s meeting was held at the Pinnacle Golf Club in Grove City. The speaker portion of the meeting started with special guest
Cindy Wozny-Carl, past president of CREW
Chicago and CREW National Board of Directors liaison to CREW Columbus. Cindy discussed the many benefits of networking with CREW. She reminded attendees to login to their CrewBiz account
and utilize that as a resource for warm leads. CrewBiz is also available as an app on your mobile device and tablet.
The Grove City Mayor, Richard “Ike” Stage then took to podium to inform the group of the developments
of the largest suburb in Franklin county by land and population—Grove City! Mr. Stage gave an overview of the
history of Grove City and planning for 2014 and beyond. Home to nearly 1,100 businesses and 40,000 residents,
Grove City is one of the fastest-growing Central Ohio suburbs. In five of the last six years it has ranked as the
number one Columbus suburb in new housing starts.

NETWORKING TIP OF THE MONTH:
Update your social media
(including CrewBiz).
When was the last time you updated your work-related social media
profile? Updates may include updating recent involvement with organizations, adding accomplishments, or even posting a new profile picture. Don’t forget
about CrewBiz - not only is this a great source of referrals and “warm” leads, but having an
updated profile allows others in the network to reach out to you! CrewBiz has an easy to
use website (https://crewbiz.crewnetwork.org) and even an app for iPhone or iPad available
for free through the iTunes store.
Join other CREW members for a members-only brown bag April 16th at CCDC (900 Michigan Avenue) to learn about CrewBiz and even get a professional headshot taken. Additional information and pre-registration is available online.
Contact our President Conni Hale if you have trouble accessing your CrewBiz profile.
Jeanna Weaver (above)
and Ashley Bring (below)
are co-chairs of the Communications Committee
The communications committee is responsible for the monthly newsletter and maintaining the website. If you have any news you would like to share, please let us
know so that we can include it in the newsletter and website!
The Director of Communications is Cathy Garland, President/CEO of Community
Capital Development Corporation. The Co-Chairs of Communications are Jeanna
Weaver, Shareholder at Plunkett Cooney, PC (614)629-3007 and Ashley Bring,
Business Development at August Mack Environmental, Inc (740)548-1524.
Volunteering for the Communications Committee is an excellent way to get involved, and can be as little as a 15 minute time commitment per month. Contact
Ashley or Jeanna for more information.
