Fund-a-Cause provides an opportunity for each and every one of us to contribute to a cause which we know is a priority for you as parishioners and parents, and for all of us who are dedicated to the mission of Saint Jude. Safety and security concerns affect many aspects of dayto-day life in institutions across our country. Whether a retail establishment, a service organization, hospital or school, we know that there is a heightened need for awareness as it relates to protecting our most precious individuals, our families, and especially, our children. Saint Jude aims to be at the forefront of initiatives that promote the well-being of its members. Being proactive, rather than reactive is important to us. This means that safety and security measures are regularly evaluated and improved upon as needed and financially feasible. With this as background, we are asking that each of you join us and help support the necessary improvements for our safety and security system. Improving our existing measures such as camera systems and the technology and the infrastructure to support them is so necessary. Recent recommendations from safety experts and law enforcement personnel have given us direction. Once in place we feel we will have provided the security measures we deem essential for our campus. We want you to know that WE NEED YOUR HELP. Please raise your paddle, pitch in and help us FUND OUR CAUSE for SAFETY and SECURITY at Saint Jude Parish and School. - 13 - FATHER CHARLIE’S “TOP PICKS” We are offering 20 of our most popular auction items in a raffle. Step 1: Enter http://stjudeap.ggo.mobi into your browser’s address bar. Step 2: Once your event login screen is loaded, enter your bidder number and tap Login. Step 3: Enter an item number or keyword to jump right to your item. You can also swipe up and down to browse items by category. Step 4: You can bid the next increment, set a max bid, or “Watch” packages. If you are out-bid, you will receive an out-bid text message. *Standard rates apply. Search packages by number, keyword, or category and select your action (Details/Bid, etc). If your max bid is the highest, the system will automatically bid in your favor until you are outbid or until the silent auction closes. To get back to the main screen, select the icon. To go to the list of bids and open items you are currently winning, tap the My Bids button. To find out what packages have no bids, tap the No Bids Pkgs button. Forgot your Bidder Number? Visit the help desk to look up your number or to register. - 20 - SMARTPHONES AND DEVICES Mobile Bidding works with any device capable of accessing the internet. The most popular devices used are: iPhone (all models) Android (all models) iPads iPods Blackberry (current models) Kindle Fire Nook Color Galaxy Tab Google Tablet MAX BIDDING When you see an item you wish to bid on, simply enter the dollar amount representing what you are willing to pay. Mobile Bidding will store that amount and increment the current bid to the next highest bid (current bid + minimum raise). The best part is that Mobile Bidding will continue to place bids on your behalf until we reach your Max Bid. Once your Max Bid is exceeded, we will send you an email AND text message alerting you that it’s time to consider a higher Max Bid. NOTE: When viewing items, keep in mind that the Current Bid does not mean that a Max Bid may not already exist. We will alert you if your attempted Max Bid is lower than a previous entered Max Bid. - 21 - BIDDING RULES A bid is a binding contract that's active until the listing ends. Once you place a bid, you need to pay for the item if you're the winning bidder. You're not allowed to retract bids to manipulate the bidding process, like trying to find out the maximum bid of the current high bidder. Mistakes sometimes occur, so there are a few times when you're allowed to retract or cancel a bid if the auction item(s) are currently open. Review the guidelines below. What are the guidelines? It's only OK to retract a bid if: You accidentally enter the wrong amount, like entering $1,500 instead of $150. If this happened, please see a bidding volunteer or visit the registration area immediately for retraction. The item description changed significantly after you placed your bid. For example, the organization updated information about the item's features or restrictions. Please see a bidding volunteer or visit the registration area immediately for retraction. Examples of when you can't retract a bid: You changed your mind about buying the item. You wanted to find out how high another buyer bid on an item. The item has closed and you no longer want the item. Make sure to view your My Bids to see your current activity. - 22 - - 23 - - 24 - VOICE AUCTION ITEMS 101 NOURRI DINNER FOR EIGHT Mouths will water for this relaxed and interactive kitchen experience at Nourri.
