FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 2 January 2013 CONTACT: Phil Donato 314-516-5425 [email protected] St. Louis Public Radio and Quincy Public Radio Announce Program Changes for 2013 St. Louis Public Radio | 90.7 KWMU and Quincy Public Radio 90.3 | WQUB will be making the following program changes effective Saturday, January 5, Sunday, January 6 and Monday, January 7, 2013: Saturday, January 5, 2013 Ask Me Another, a new program from NPR, will air on Saturdays from 12-1 p.m. As result of this change, This American Life will now air from 1-2 p.m. and Marketplace Money will now air on Sundays from 6-7 a.m. Ask Me Another is an hour-long program that blends brainteasers and local pub trivia night with comedy and music. Host Ophira Eisenberg invites in-studio guests and listeners alike to stretch their thinking, tickle their funny bones, and enjoy witty banter and guitar riffs from house musician Jonathan Coulton. Listeners can play along as Eisenberg puts questions to a rotating band of puzzle gurus, audience members and special mystery guests, who then take a turn in the contestant's chair facing trivia games written especially for him or her. Ask Me Another is recorded live at The Bell House in Brooklyn, NY. Radiolab, now a weekly program, will air on Saturdays from 3-4 p.m. As a result of this change, St. Louis Public Radio will no longer air short-run series and special programs during this time slot. Radiolab, hosted by Jad Abumrad, is a show about curiosity where sound illuminates ideas, and the boundaries blur between science, philosophy, and human experience. Sunday, January 6, 2013 Marketplace Money, has moved from Saturday afternoons and will now air from 6-7 a.m. on Sundays. Snap Judgement will now air on Sundays from 2-3 p.m. As a result of this change, Car Talk (the repeat broadcast) will no longer air on Sundays but will remain in its 10-11 a.m. time slot on Saturdays. The Moth Radio Hour, now a weekly program, will air on Sundays from 7-8 p.m. As a result of this change, Snap Judgement will move to the 2-3 p.m. time slot on Sundays. The Moth Radio Hour features true stories told live on stage without scripts, notes, props, or accompaniment. Each episode of The Moth Radio Hour mixes humorous, heartbreaking, and poignant tales that captivate, surprise, and delight audiences with their honesty and bravery. Monday, January 7, 2013 All Things Considered will now air Monday through Friday from 3-7 p.m. As a result of this new time slot, St. Louis Public Radio will no longer air The World. Of note, Marketplace will continue to be broadcast in its current time slot from 6-6:30 p.m. The Gateway 90.7 KWMU-2 will be making the following program changes effective Monday, January 7, 2013: Monday, January 7, 2013 Arch City Radio Hour, a new program, will air new episodes at various times every two weeks. Arch City Radio Hour is a program about music artists, bands, and events in the St. Louis region. Every two weeks, host Nick Garcia (of Archcityradio.fm) will highlight notable St. Louis musicians and songs.
