ITINERARY
INCLUDED MEALS: BREAKFAST (B) LUNCH (L) DINNER (D)
MONDAY, MAY 29: This morning, we’ll depart Harper’s Station and motorcoach to St. Charles, MO. En route, we
will stop for lunch on own. We continue on to St. Charles, MO and check-in to the lovely Ameristar Casino Resort.
This evening, enjoy dinner at the resort and exciting gaming action (D).
TUESDAY, MAY 30: This morning we depart St. Charles for Mexico, MO for our first quilt shop, the Homestead
Hearth. Celebrating 13 years of service, the Homestead Hearth is where friends gather for simpler times. Do some
shopping before lunch at AJ’s in Macon, MO. Afterwards, we stop at Ben Franklin and Threads before visiting
Threads That Bind. We overnight for two nights at the Comfort Inn, Chillicothe, MO. Dinner tonight is at a local
favorite, Nico’z. The rest of evening is yours to enjoy. (B,L,D)
WEDNESDAY, MAY 31: This morning after breakfast, we depart for Hamilton, MO for our full day of quilting in “Quilt
Town USA” at the famous Missouri Star Quilt Company. This quaint town is comprised of 12 themed quilt shops, a
beautiful sewing center for retreats and socializing. You certainly won’t have a hard time finding your happy place.
Enjoy the day going from shop to shop. The highlight of our tour will be after dinner - a two hour trunk show with
the YouTube face of quilting, Jenny Doan. You will have the opportunity for a meet and greet with Jenny, and get
of her personal tips. After a full day, we will head back to our hotel with lots of goodies and quilting ideas. (B,D)
THURSDAY, JUNE 1: After breakfast, we depart early for America’s River town, Hannibal, MO. This historic river
town sits on the banks of the Mississippi. As the boyhood home to the author Mark Twain, Hannibal is famously
known as the setting for timeless novels including the Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. Located
across from Mark Twain’s boyhood home is one of Better Homes and Gardens’ Quilt Sampler featured shops, the
Hickory Stick. Quilt makers have been shopping here for supplies, advice and inspiration for 40 years. This will be
our last quilt shop visit, so stock up on all your supplies. We will take a little leisurely break before our lunch aboard
the Mark Twain Riverboat. This cruise along the Mississippi will give you the opportunity to explore the river like Tom
and Huck did back in the day. Our farewell dinner with our quilting friends is at the Hannibal Club. There is nothing
more fitting than to end our night in Hannibal than with Mark Twain in a show at Planters Barn Theatre. (Richard
Garey is THE Mark Twain after Hal Holbrook). (B,L,D)
FRIDAY, JUNE 2: This morning after breakfast, depart for home with fond memories of our stops along the Missouri
Quilt Trail. (B)
