The South African Council on Higher Education (CHE) is an independent statutory body established by the Higher Education Act, No. 101 of 1997. The CHE is the Quality Council for Higher Education, advises the Minister of Higher Education and Training on all higher education issues and is responsible for quality assurance and promotion through the Higher Education Quality Committee. The Programme Accreditation Directorate is responsible for the accreditation of new programmes submitted by public and private higher education institutions as well as the reaccreditation of existing programmes offered by private providers. Applications are invited from interested and suitably qualified candidates for appointment to the following position: Manager: Logistics and Capacity Development Directorate: Programme Accreditation Directorate Total cost of employment package: R532 278 – R627 000 p.a. Reporting to the Senior Manager: Programme Accreditation, the successful candidate will be required to: Manage and co-ordinate the site visit and logistics processes linked to the accreditation and re-accreditation processes Liaise with institutions about their applications and the outcomes thereof Monitor the compliance in terms of conditions linked to accreditation and reaccreditation Meet with and provide guidance to providers of higher education programmes Manage the capacity development activities of the Directorate Assess and analyse information and compile reports Participate as required in Directorate projects and activities The successful candidate should have: An Honours degree or equivalent, preferably in Education/Social Sciences, and a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a higher education environment. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
