Cashless Tolling Beaver Valley E x p r es sway April 2017 In April 2017, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) will introduce cashless tolling on the I-376 Beaver Valley Expressway (Toll 376), in Beaver and Lawrence counties. Toll 376 is the second location selected to test a cashless tolling system. This change will occur without employee layoffs. Toll collectors will be relocated to other toll plazas within the system. W h at I s C a s h l e s s T o l l i n g ? With cashless tolling, all motorists benefit from the convenience of nonstop travel. Tolls are assessed electronically as vehicles travel through toll plazas. No need to stop and drop loose change in a basket. All motorists keep moving at the posted speed limit through all lanes of the existing toll facilities. Customers pay using E-ZPass or the new PA Turnpike Toll BY Plate. E-ZPass customers will have their toll deducted from their pre-paid account as usual. Customers without E-ZPass will be sent a PA Turnpike TOLL BY PLATE invoice. High-speed cameras mounted at the tollbooths will take a picture of the vehicle’s license plate and the registered owner will receive the invoice by mail. This cashless toll is collected while motorists travel at highway speed underneath gantries that span the mainline Turnpike as they travel into Pennsylvania from New Jersey over the Delaware River. In contrast, Toll 376 will be collected as motorists pass through existing toll plazas. New equipment was added to capture license plate images from the vehicles of non-E-ZPass subscribers. Those customers will receive a PA Turnpike Toll By Plate invoice in the mail. See rendering for more details. Delaware River Bridge Cashless Tolling Point Rendering.
