endeavour together - Godolphin and Latymer School

ENDEAVOUR
TOGETHER
CYL
Dear Girls, Parents and Staff,
This year marks the third Challenge Your Limits Week at Godolphin and Latymer, following on from a very successful programme over the last year two years.
The philosophy behind our Challenge Your Limits programme is the belief in the importance of developing resilience within our students, so that they have
the confidence to surmount challenges and overcome fear of failure. With every year that has passed since the first event in 2015, this ethos has become
more and more embedded in school life. Challenge Your Limits has always been about making the most of new opportunities, trying something new and
not worrying about it going wrong. This year, the theme for Challenge Your Limits 2017 is Endeavour Together, where the aim is to promote the idea that
we cannot overcome challenges, fear of failure or be truly resilient without the support of others, whether that be family, friends, members of our school
community or others. Teamwork is essential in order to reach our full potential.
Girls, whether it is contributing to our lower corridor wall display, taking part in our Great British Bake Off-style Technical Challenge, testing your patience with
giant board games, or coming along to lunch time talks with speakers such as Channel 4 News presenter Matt Frei, there are activities to suit everyone!
Parents, with Challenge Your Limits week running from Monday 27th February to Friday 3rd March, it is fast-approaching, so please encourage your daughters
to participate in as much as possible. You are more than welcome to attend any of the talks and activities too. Additionally, we warmly invite you to attend an
evening talk by Dr Aric Sigman on Monday, which is solely for parents. Please see the attached brochure for how to register your attendance.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the PTFA for their very generous sponsorship of our Challenge Your Limits week, as well as all the speakers
who are giving up their time to run events. In addition, thank you to all departments who have designed subject activities to tie in with this year’s theme too.
Please see the attached Challenge Your Limits 2017 brochure for further information on the scheduled events. Girls will be advised how to sign up for the
events by their tutors and Heads of Year.
Best wishes,
Helen Nohlmans
