Cutting
All strips are cut across the width of the fabric.
From Fabric A (XANA 809 BV), cut:
•(2) 12 1/2˝ x 42˝ strips; cut into
(16) 4 1/2˝ x 12 1/2˝ rectangles
From Fabric B (XANA 807 MU), cut:
•(3) 4 1/2˝ x 42˝ strips; cut into
(16) 4 1/2˝ x 6 1/2˝ rectangles
•(5) 2 1/2˝ x 42˝ binding strips
From Fabric C (XANA 805 BV), cut:
•(1) 2 1/2˝ x 42˝ strip; cut into (16) 2 1/2˝ squares
From Fabric D (XANA 808 MU), cut:
•(1) 4 1/2˝ x 42˝ strips; cut into
(16) 2 1/2˝ x 4 1/2˝ rectangles
From Fabric E (XANA 804 MU), cut:
•(2) 7 1/2˝ x 42˝ strips; cut into
(16) 4 1/2˝ x 7 1/2˝ rectangles
•(1) 2 1/2˝ x 42˝ strip; cut into (8) 2 1/2˝ squares
Block Assembly
You’ll make two versions of the same block: one
block has a fabric G square in the bottom right
corner; the other block has a fabric E square in
the bottom right corner. The other fabrics are
the same for both blocks. Refer to the block
diagram for placement guidance throughout.
1.
Sew a fabric G square to a fabric C square.
With the fabric G square along the bottom, sew
a fabric D rectangle to the left edge of the unit.
Make a total of 8 units.
2 Sew a fabric E rectangle to the left edge of
the unit from step 1.
3.
Sew a fabric B rectangle to a fabric G
rectangle. Make a total of 8 units. Then sew the
B/G unit to the top of each unit from step 2.
4.
Sew fabric F rectangle to the left edge of
each unit from step 3 to make 8 units.
5. Sew a fabric A rectangle to the top of each
unit from step 4 to complete 8 A blocks.
6.
Repeat step 1, using a fabric E square,
a fabric C square, and a fabric D rectangle
to make 8 units.
From Fabric F (XANA 807 BV), cut:
•(4) 1 1/2˝ x 42˝ strips; cut into
(16) 1 1/2˝ x 8 1/2˝ strips
From Fabric G (XANA 811 MU), cut:
•(2) 5 1/2˝ x 42˝ strips; cut into
(16) 4 1/2˝ x 5 1/2˝ rectangles
•(1) 2 1/2˝ x 42˝ strip; cut into (8) 2 1/2˝ squares
7. Repeat steps 2–5 to make 8 B blocks.
Quilt Assembly
8. Lay out the blocks in four rows of four blocks each, alternating the A and B blocks and rotating
them as shown in the quilt photo. Join the blocks into rows and then join the rows.
9. Layer quilt top with batting and backing; baste. Quilt as desired. Using the fabric B 2 / ˝-wide

binding strips, bind the edges to finish.
