Colt Cattani, Lakota East
The senior was named first team allstate and was Greater Miami Conference
player of the year. He hit .475 with eight
doubles, four triples, four home runs, 39
RBI and 13 steals.
DIV. I COACH OF THE YEAR
Bill Dreisbach, Lakota West
His team (26-2) was a state semifinalist,
after losing much of the 2007 state title team
to graduation. Dreisbach was D-I state coach of
the year and GMC coach of the year.
DIVISION I FIRST TEAM
Jimmy Brenneman, Lakota West
The senior was named first team all-state
and All-Greater Miami Conference. He hit
.447 with six homers, 25 RBI and 30 stolen
bases.
Bryan Beaver, Lakota West
The junior was named second team allstate and All-Greater Miami Conference. He
hit .485 with one homer, 38 RBI and 10
steals and was 4-1 as a pitcher.
Nathan Smith, Lakota West
The junior was named second team allstate and All-Greater Miami Conference. He
was 11-1 with a 2.43 ERA and 52 strikeouts
(63 IP). He also hit .313.
Patrick Curtin, Moeller
The senior was Greater Catholic League
South player of the year. He batted .435 with
a homer, 29 RBI and 18 steals. He also was
3-2 with a 2.65 ERA and two saves.
Greg Williams, Moeller
Mike Basil, St. Xavier
Brett McKinney, Badin
The junior pitcher led Badin to the Division III state final and was Greater Catholic
League Central co-player of the year. He
was 9-2 with a 1.87 ERA, with 75 strikeouts in 60 innings. He also had two saves.
The senior was named first team all-state and
Fort Ancient Valley Conference Cardinal player of
the year. He was 7-1 with an 0.94 ERA (91 K’s
in 60 innings). He also hit .361 with 28 RBI.
Aaron Walter, La Salle
The senior was All-Greater Catholic League
South. He was 5-1 with a 0.91 ERA, with 36
strikeouts in 46 innings. His WHIP (walks/hits/
innings pitched) was 0.98.
Eric Linneman, Elder
The senior was All-Greater Catholic League
South. He batted .402 and led Elder in runs
(23), hits (33) and stolen bases (17), with a
.484 on-base percentage.
The senior was All-Greater Miami Conference.
He hit .376 with six home runs, 28 RBI and
eight stolen bases. As a pitcher, he was 2-0.
The senior was All-Greater Miami Conference.
Despite a 2-3 record, he was regarded as one of
the area’s top pitchers (2.41 ERA, 48 K’s in 32
innings).
Alex Vice, Colerain
The senior was named All-Greater Miami Conference. He was 3-2 with a 2.68 ERA and batted
.380 with two home runs and 17 RBI.

He led Badin (26-7) to the Division III state
finals, the program’s second state championship game appearance in four years. Badin
also was Enquirer Divisions II-IV coaches’ poll
champion and GCL Central champion.

The senior was Fort Ancient Valley Conference Buckeye player of the year. He batted
.424 and led Milford in home runs (four), RBI

saves and 63 strikeouts in 56 innings.
