View Cutting Committee Report March 5, 2016 Hi Sarah, As you requested, here is an update on the view cutting for your newsletter. At the 2015 annual meeting, the members approved the creation of an ad hoc View Clearing Committee chaired by Scottie Ginn. The purpose was to work with Gerald to create views by consulting individual property owners as well as tree-scaping sides of existing club roads and underutilized lands to improve the club grounds. We were clear at the annual meeting that the club would cut where possible on club land for the improvement of the general appearance of the club and to get a lake view for the club house. In addition, we would work with individuals to help open up their views. This work would be funded by the members and cutting of trees on people's property would require their permission. We have made progress! Gerald has opened a view of the lake from the clubhouse by cutting on club property. He has also cut trees in the club property to the sides of the roads, which has improved the general appearance of the club. In addition, several homeowners have worked on improving views. Ann Cammack has worked with the Moredocks to cut some trees to improve their view. Sarah Bayne has worked with Gerald, the Sheplers and Scottie Ginn to open up a view from her camp. We remain committed to working with inviduals to improve their views. The ground rules for these activities are that it is funded by the person whose view is being improved and that people's permission is required to cut down their trees. In addition, there has been some cutting by NYSEG this winter along Burt Way and Lakeshore to clean up some safety issues where the trees were getting close to the wires. The work was all done by NYSEG at no cost to us. I think that you will be pleasantly surprised when you arrive this summer. Scottie Ginn
