Further information concerning specific printers can be found on the pcl web site www.pcllabels.com A unique range of SRA3 sheets of plain self adhesive and die cut labels developed specifically for the new generation digital presses without compromising their use by traditional printing methods. Approved for Indigo commercial and industrial sheet fed presses; the PCL3 range was the first in the world to be accredited by Hewlett Packard. Similarly approved for use on commercial hot fusing toner presses (e.g. Kodak NexPress, Xerox Docucolor including the iGen, Konica Minolta BizHub, Ricoh and Canon) this unique range provides the solution to labelling requirements for both digital and conventional printing. All approvals were granted on materials pre-cut to labels to ensure that all aspects of the products, including the quality of die cutting, were taken into account. † Docucolor – Due to the feed system on the DC12 Xerox do not advise the use of pre-cut labels on SRA3 sheets - please see the PCL (A4) range for this particular machine. Although the PCL3 range was developed for commercial print use it is equally at home in ‘in house’ print environments with further approvals for printability, quality and reliability from OKI and the other major printer suppliers who service both of these markets. This range of label sizes and materials is constantly being updated, currently with over 40 sizes (squares, rectangles, circles, media and special shapes) available in 26 approved base materials. Materials available include coated white stocks in both permanent and removable adhesives, ‘block out’ adhesive, colours, fluorescents, high wet strength laid papers for bottle labelling, clear, white and silver polyesters, matt white PE (Teslin®) with BS5609 approved adhesive for hazardous goods labelling and a rayon satin cloth with clothing approved adhesive. An extension of the patented PCL (A4) range the sheets are formatted with two panels of A4 PCL layouts arranged on an SRA3 sheet. With extra grip edges all round and a wide centre gutter the sheet can be cut to A4 (using the crop marks cut into the surface for positioning) for final presentation. 304 PCLTM PATENT: GB2286176 © 2004, Label Connections Limited The right to use this template is granted for the sole purpose to assist in the creation of artwork for the PCL™ range of labels. It is not to be redistributed, sold or otherwise disposed of without the express permission of Label Connections Ltd. +44 (0)1480 211222 Pdf templates can be downloaded from the pcl web site at www.pcllabels.com Specifically designed for maximum stability and simplicity of use, the PCL3 Digital format is a modification of the highly versatile, successful (patented) PCL (A4) format. Two A4 panels of labels are positioned on an SRA3 sheet with extra grip edges all round. Crop marks are cut into the label surface to mark the position of the A4 sheets edges for ease of guillotining for final presentation. Double the output - every click! Quality Only the highest quality materials meet the exacting standards required of the PCL3 range. The PCL Labels technical department involved only the most advanced paper mills and coating specialists in their development of the materials required to meet the demands of a product designed for such diverse printing specification requirements. The five years of development produced a unique range of the highest quality standards, and is ongoing! Service The requirements of digital printers are Immediate and varied. The PCL3 range provides over 1000 labelling options for a minimum one box order. Manufacture and despatch are normally on the same day as ordered with the option of same day courier delivery for those really urgent jobs. Reliability Independently tested and approved by the world’s leading digital press manufacturers. For laser (digital) and litho printers The PCL3 range of sheets and die cut labels is equally at home on digital and litho presses. Hot fusing toner (laser) and litho printers can however use the full range of SRA3 materials available. See page 3. The PCL (A4) range offers the litho and digital printer a further 4000 label size/material options and for simple linework, the Digital Office (A4) range further extends the choice. PCL labels are patented GB2286176 Web Site: www.pcllabels.com Labels Choice The PCL3 range provides printers with the choice of print method to suit the job, combined with the ability to cut time and finishing costs by using pre-cut labels. Bespoke label sizes and shapes can be made to your requirements using any of the approved standard materials and we will do our utmost to develop new products for your specific needs if required. Printing our products All materials and label sizes in the PCL3 range can be printed by conventional methods (e.g. Offset litho, silk screen) and digitally by HP Indigo and hot fusing laser technology. They can be printed by multiple processes e.g. pre-print fixed information by offset litho and overprint variable data by digital methods (SRA3 or cut back to A4 for desk top printing). PCL3 label formats allow an image bleed by all print methods plus the ability to flood colour over the entire sheet and once guillotined back to A4 leave no plain unprinted areas. Offset Litho: Use formulated low tack inks and a hard blanket when printing pre-cut labels. Polyesters require fully oxidising inks and delivery systems free of oil based inks and varnishes. Digital: PCL3 materials should be run as paper heavyweight media (170 - 200gsm). Please visit www.pcllabels.com for more specific printing information. PCL3 Digital and other labels from the PCL Family (PCL [A4], Digital Office and A4+) are available from: CUSTOMER SERVICE Full product specification sheets, label template files to download for setting up label layouts, hints and tips for printing labels, machine trials and stockists can all be found on our website: www.pcllabels.com Or phone the Label Helpline +44(0)1480 211222, where the highly experienced PCL Customer Service Team is ready to answer your questions about anything to do with labels and labelling. Printing Information PCL3 die cut labels and flat sheets can be printed conventionally e.g. offset litho and digitally e.g. HP Indigo and hot fusing toner. Offset Litho: Use formulated low tack inks (not just ‘reduced’) and a hard blanket when printing pre die cut labels in order to reduce the ‘suction’ effect. Synthetic grades require fully oxidising inks specifically for ‘synthetics’ and delivery systems free of oil based inks and varnishes. Matt White PE (Teslin®) can however be printed with conventional (low tack) inks. For more information on inks suitable for pre cut labels and synthetic grades please contact your normal ink supplier or PJF Printing Inks – Paul Freemantle +44 (0)1933 271201. Digital: The total laminate weight and thickness are shown in the materials table. Trials with media type settings are recommended depending on the image to be printed as every digital press handles Gloss/ Matt/ Filmic in slightly different ways. All materials however can be printed as media type ‘paper’ with the appropriate weight/thickness selected. Please visit www.pcllabels.com for more printing information.
