The balanced teeter-totter (seesaw) signifies that a body is in equilibrium when the
moment of all the forces acting on the body is zero. The moment arm of the heavier
person is shorter than the moment arm of the lighter person. However the moment of
these forces about the point of support is equal and opposite thus resulting in a
