PENZU STUDENT TUTORIAL 1. Go to penzu.com > click LOG IN 2. Log in with Email as "whsd" followed by the 5-digit district ID and password as the district 4-digit password > Click LOG IN > Click inside the Language Arts box 3. Red Notification - Alert that there is a new entry or that an old entry has been updated. The number indicates how many entries new or updated. Alerts are cleared once entries is viewed. 4. Click on MANAGE ENTRY TAB with notification to view 5. Assignment - click on INSTRUCTION FOR: DEMO ASSIGNMENT to view assignment (assignments are in green) OR Click in Box in front of assignment and click OPEN 6. Click START WRITING NOW! to begin writing assignment 7. Click on lined paper to begin writing > click DISK to save the document > click PRINTER to printer 8 Click CAMERA to Insert Photo > Under Computer, click GO (A Flickr account is needed to use Flickr) . 9. Click BROWSE COMPUTER > find photo(s) and click on it > click DONE > 10. Click INSERT > photo is inserted into document page 11. Click "T" to format Text > much like word (bold, underline, color, font, size, alignment, bullets, etc.) > Click on Assignment to view assignment while writing on notepad 12. SHARE is not available to student (no e-mail) > CUSTOMIZE is not available (only in Pro Edition) 13. Click SUBMIT to send completed assignment to teacher 14. White box is a comment area (click inside and type) > click SEND TO TEACHER or SEND NOW (once an assignment is sent, it can no longer be edited) > Do NOT check the box to send to entire class 15. Viewing Returned Assignments - Click on MANGE ENTRY Tab > click EYE to preview > Click PAPER/ RIGHT ARROW for submitted information > Check means paper is graded 16. Viewing Returned Assignments (cont.) - Click box in front of graded assignment (entry will turn yellow) > Click OPEN from top menu > click on COMMENTS (red alert flag) to view teacher comments > Click ADD COMMENT to send comment back to teacher 17. Reviewing In-line Comments - An in-line comment will be highlighted yellow > Click on highlighted text to show message in box or hover the mouse over the highlighted text to view comment 18. Revising an Entry after Receiving Teacher Feedback - Entries are read only after submission > Click COPY > Click on journal pad to type revision > Click in comment box to add comments > Click SEND NOW to resubmit to teacher 19. Rename Entry - Click box in front of document (entry will turn yellow) > Click RENAME from top menu > Click in white box to enter new name > Click RENAME > Document will appear with new name > NOTE: Assignments submitted to teacher cannot be renamed 20. Delete Entry - Click box in front of document (entry will turn yellow) > Click DELETE from top menu > Click DELETE > verification message will appear (option to view trash or undo) 21. New Entry - Click NEW ENTRY to add a blank page - it can be added to an assignment later 22. Adding to an Assignment - Click ASSIGNMENT > Click on assignment from drop-down arrow > Click ADD TO ASSIGNMENT "DEMO ASSIGNMENT" 23. View Entries - Click on numbered black tab on right > Click Since (bottom right) > Select Last Week, Yesterday, or Today > Recent Entries will be listed > Click on Click on X to delete entry screen (entry will not be deleted--only the active document from view)
