Enclosed is the entry packet for the Knox County Invitational Swim Meet to be held

Again, we are adding one event to the meet.- 25 yard free- since we have touch pads at
both ends of the pool. This event will be for 9 year olds and older, by age group. It will be
right after the conclusion of the free relays. We will not have the 500’s this year.
You may mail your payment ahead of time, checks payable to Knox Co Krocodile Swim
Team, Knox Co YMCA 1324 W. Carl Sandburg Dr. Galesburg, IL 61401. You may also
bring your payment with you.
We will be asking each team to help out with the timing and officiating. We will send a
specific request of names after we receive confirmation from your team. We would like you
to explain a few of our rules to your swimmers prior to their arrival at the Knox County
YMCA.
1. No food or drink in the pool area
2. Remain in the gym area while waiting for events
3. No running or dangerous behavior
The meet will consist of the standard YMCA events with the addition of the 6 & Under age
group. In addition to the standard events, we will again have a 25 Free events, following the
Free Relays. This is a fun and fast event for swimmers 9 years and older! Each swimmer
may enter a maximum of 5 events including relays (max. of 4 indiv. events). Entry fee is
$3.00 per swimmer, per event. ($12 for each relay)
Reminders:
There are no 500’s
Each team will have a lane timing assignment and we will need shifts covered for officials.
The movie theater parking lot across from the Knox County YMCA is available for additional
parking.

Times:
Warms-ups: Times will be assigned based on team size and distance
traveled
Meet Starts: 9 am
Meet Concludes: 4:00-5:00 pm (planned)
Rules: This meet will be conducted according to USA Swimming rules governing
swimming competition. All events will be timed finals.
Facility: The pool is 25 yards in length, has 6 lanes, steel starting blocks at the
deep-end only, and non-turbulent lane separators.
Timing: A Daktronics electronic timing system with a beep start and touch-pads (at both
ends) will be used. Two timers per lane using electronic stop watches will serve as backup.
The watches will be provided. We will assign teams to time certain lanes to better allow the
Knox County helpers to monitor the gym and bullpen areas.
A schedule with lane assignments will be sent out after we receive
confirmation from all teams attending.
Entries: A swimmer may enter a maximum of 5 events including relays (max. 4 indiv.
events).
Entry Fees: $3.00 per individual per event. A relay would be 4 swimmers for one event $12.00

Heat Sheets: These will be available for coaches to use at the meet (no charge). Additional
sheets may be purchased for a minimal cost. Final results will be posted during the meet
and a finished copy will be provided to each coach.
Seeding: The meet will be -seeded with no deck entries accepted. Time cards will be
prepared by the host.
Scoring: Individual events: 16-13-12-11-10-9-7-5-4-3-2-1 Relays: 32-26-24-22-20-1814-10-8-6-4-2. If we have more than 12 teams, we will score top 16, but still just have
awards for top 12.
Awards: Individual and relay: Medals for 1 st thru 3rd, Rosette ribbons from 4th-6th, custom
ribbons for 7th thru 12th. Team trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd (host team excluded). Please
pick up your team’s awards after the meet.
Liability: The Knox County YMCA, the Knox County YMCA Swim Team, and the Knox
County YMCA Swim Team Parent Association do not assume any responsibility for injury or
for lost or stolen articles.
Concessions: Food and beverage are available. Location TBA. There is limited seating
and food is allowed in the gym (team area), so encourage swimmers not to congregate in
the concession area.
Staging Area: Teams will be located in the gym area with the bullpen. Teams will be
assigned space according to team size. We ask that one adult per 15 swimmers remain with
the team in the gym area at all times.
Swim supplies: Swim suits and accessories will be available for sale in the gym.

herby consign, waive, and release any and all rights and claims for damages which
may arise against the KNOX COUNTY YMCA, KNOX COUNTY YMCA SWIM TEAM, OR
KNOX COUNTY YMCA PARENTS ASSOCIATION, their representatives, employees,
or successors, for any or all injuries suffered or articles lost by me or any
