GROOMING
Grooming is an extremely important part of the Production. Please ensure that
performers are correctly prepared for their time in the spotlight!
Bodystocking: A skin coloured leotard (no sleeves or legs) that can be worn under costumes that is
worn instead of underwear (which can catch the lights and draw attention). They also take away any
hesitation the girls have about changing in front of each other and protect sensitive (or young) skin
from itchy sequins! These are available from Bloch for Dancers. We suggest purchasing well in
advance as these are a popular Concert item and they sell out quickly. Your performer will be
notified in class if they should they require a body stocking (generally older students).
Jewellery and Nail Polish: No Jewellery is to be worn on stage. Earrings must be taken out as they
catch the light. Please do not get ears pierced in the lead up to the concert as no exceptions will be
made. Anklets and wristbands must be cut off. Please remove all nail polish on hands and feet.
Fake Tan: Please do not fake tan in the lead up to the concert. Tan comes off onto costumes. Please
also note no fake tattoos.
MakeUp
TUTORIAL: YouTube search: Dance Competition MakeUp Tutorial by Amanda A. Williams.
All female performers must wear full BouncePA Stage make-up. Male performers will be required
to wear foundation, blush and a small amount of lipstick, eye liner optional.
False eyelashes are compulsory for all female cast members.
Please note the tutorial does not cover lipstick. Line the lips with a red liner then apply a
COLOURSTAY lipstick.
If lipstick is not colourstay and comes off on costumes you will be charged the full amount for a
replacement costume (ranging $75 - $215).

Costuming
Costumes for the productions will be hired at a rate of $25/ costume. A costume will be required
for each class your performer takes (eg, performer takes contemporary class and jazz class = 2
costumes). Ready Set Dance, Bounce Junior, Intermediate and Senior Jazz will be involved in two
routines for the 1 class.
Performers will take their costumes home with them in the classes leading up to the Dress
Rehearsal.
When receiving costumes, please do not throw them in the back of the car and forget about them please find a safe spot away from dogs and younger siblings to hang them up. These have been
washed, pressed, labelled and triple checked to make sure your performer has everything they need
on Show Day.
Costumes with missing pieces will need to be replaced in full. Payment will be responsibility of the
performer.
Costume Return
This year, each dancer will leave their costumes at the concert - we will transport them home for
you.
STUDENTS ARE NOT TO TAKE COSTUMES HOME AFTER THE PERFORMANCE.
Shoes
Please ensure your dancer has their initials or name in every shoe that belongs to them (not hired)
at the concert. As they are changing with their own age group and have same style and similar sized
feet, it can be very easy for shoes to go missing!
Hip Hop and Inter/ Senior Jazz will have shoes hired to them at a rate of $15 as part of the costume
to avoid you having to buy second pairs of shoes for one performance.

PERFORMER CHECKLIST
Ticket Sales
Please keep track of our Bounce Performing Arts Facebook page to keep updated with
ticket release date. At this stage, there will be one show only, so do not miss out!
Theatre Etiquette
Recording
Professional Photographers and Videographers have been employed to capture our
concert. Photos and Recording will not be permitted and the Theatre will evict any
audience members who are caught breaching these rules. If caught taking photographs
or filming, you are breaching our Child Protection Laws. Please assist us in our
endeavour to keep everybody safe and happy and leave the professionals to do their job.
Backstage
Please note that only performers will be permitted backstage. NO EXCEPTIONS.
All who are working backstage are highly qualified, organised and capable. There is no
need for parents to sort performers backstage - relax and enjoy the show!
You will not have access to children in intermission or between shows.
Phones
Turn your phone off (SILENT IS NOT THE SAME) when coming into the theatre. It is
extremely distracting to performers to see phone lights in amongst the audience. It is also
rude and distracting to those around you. There is nothing more satisfying to a performer
than performing to a responsive, engaged audience! The light from your phone light up
your face which is extremely distracting (and slightly creepy!) to see a floating, illuminated
face from the stage!
