Why should I hire the
landscape designer in the winter?
If you plan to hire a landscaper to
install your plants,
landscapers line up their
jobs by April or May for
the entire planting
season.Therefore, it is
smart to have your design
done during winter for it to be
implemented the following spring.
If you prefer to do the planting
yourself, you can prepare your
workload over the season or simply hit
the ground running once the ground thaws.
With a plan in hand, the choice is yours.

The process
O’Donal’s quality
Consultation: Our designer will visit
your home and through a detailed
analysis recommend the necessary steps
for improving your landscape.The consultation
will encompass the sketched and listed selection of appropriate
plants for an established garden or it may involve providing the
size, form and composition for an intended garden area. This
will be done while keeping in mind any variables, such as space,
moisture, exposure (sun and wind), wildlife, soil type etc.
We grow a wide variety of stock in our own fields, just feet
away from the garden center. Nurtured in Maine soil and
acclimated to Maine conditions ensure that your investment
not only survives, but thrives. We provide the quality, size, and
selection you’ll find nowhere else.
O’Donal’s Staff will take the time to help you with all your
gardening projects. We will give you the
right information relevant to your
specific design, as well as provide
any additional gardening
information. We will be
familiar with your specific
plan, therefore you can
return to us anytime.
Design levels
If you choose to have a design drawn it will require the on-site
consultation.
The Fundamental Plan: This plan includes a design proposing
outlined garden beds, either those that are detached from the
house or as a foundation border against the house. All to-scale,
the design focuses on the plant selection, possible secondary
paths, and contours of garden beds.
Property Segment Plan: This plan focuses on a selected section
of your property drawn to-scale within proximity to the home
and along with what is proposed it will also include any existing
plant or hard-scape features.
Property Blue-Print: Consisting of both new and existing
landscape elements this plan will examine the entire property.
If you are uncertain of what design level
is applicable to your needs, the
landscape designer will help
you to determine by asking
the necessary questions.
We look forward to
working with you
and accomplishing
your desired
landscape or
garden.
