----- A NOTE FROM MR. BUFFER ------------------------------- Dear Tremont Families;

●
Starting next week, elementary students will be participating in statewide testing on their district-issued
iPads or laptops. Following the steps below will help our staff ensure a smooth assessment experience
for all students.
Students should fully charge their laptops/iPads.
Students should bring earbuds or headphones as portions of some assessments may require their use.
Students should bring a pencil as scratch paper may be provided for some tests.
Students should bring a book to read once they have finished the tests. (Note, this should be a hardcopy book - electronic devices will not be allowed.)
Students should get a good night’s sleep and eat a nutritious breakfast before the assessments - we
want them to be fully charged too!
State assessments are among the many tools we use to gauge students’ progress in various subjects.
Along with STAR progress monitoring and daily interactions with teachers, these assessments help us
understand students’ learning at this particular point in time. If you have any questions about these
assessments, please contact me.
