Burbank Public Library
We are asking for community help to decorate the book return boxes on Glenoaks Blvd., in front of the
Burbank Central Library. Submit your unique design and help us brighten up the library.
Please note that the contest is only for creating the illustration that will be on the outside of the book drop.
We will take care of the painting, and use your winning design for the inspiration. Submissions must be original
artwork and cannot include any copyrighted images.
Beyond the Box is open to all ages. The deadline to submit your applications and design template is Monday,
July 31, 2017. Winning artists will be notified by September 2017.

Deadline: Monday, July 31, 2017
The selection committee will use this submission along with the application to select the winning designs. This is a typical
book drop box diagram representing the four sides and top (not to scale). Use our template to illustrate your color rendering
as it will appear on the box. Unique colors and bold graphics work well, along with bright images that can be seen from a
distance. Designs must be original and cannot include any copyrighted images. Actual book drops vary in size and shape,
and contain various seams, doors and handles; consult the inside of this brochure for more information on our 3 boxes.
