Geometry in Real Life

Geometry in Real Life
- Grade 5 Anywhere you look you see geometry. This project is focussed on geometry in real-life. First
you will need to collect pictures (either with a camera, from the internet, or from magazines
and newspapers) that represent the geometry vocabulary. You will then create a project to
show your knowledge of what we have learned in this unit. Your project is due on Friday,
January 20, 2017.
Your project must include these basics:
 At least one real life example (with photo) of each of the required vocabulary words
 A definition of each of the required vocabulary words (you may use bullets to explain
each characteristic)
 A brief explanation of why the pictures are a good example of the vocabulary word
(describe their geometric properties)
 Outline/highlight (using a bright colour) each angle, line, and shape you are identifying
 There must be an overall theme to your presentations. For example, all your pictures
could be of buildings, nature, items in your kitchen/house, or toys, etc.
 It must be neat and well organized!
