DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT
An ambitious and complex project, with young people and for young people. A different and
profitable way to approach the study of your own instrument in the orchestra day life. An
advanced course for young musicians: strings, winds, brass and percussions players with the
Principal players of some of the most important orchestras: Klaidi Sahatci, Francesco Manara, Gary
Levinson, Danilo Rossi, Gabriele Geminiani, Enrico Fagone, Maurizio Simeoli, Andrea Oliva, Fabien
Thouand, Alberto Biano, Fabrizio Meloni, Marco Braito, Jorge Monte de Fez, Gianluca Scipioni,
Bruno Frumento and the conductor Massimiliano Caldi.
The project is an idea by Donatella Colombo, violinist and artistic director of the Cultural Petite
Société who worked side by side with Luca Di Giulio masterclasses and concerts organiser.
The course will be realized with the logistic support of the administration of Turro Camplus
University of Milan, represented by director Nicola Sabatini who claims to be particularly
interested in high-level initiatives for young people.
A Course in Orchestral Performance for all musicians who wish to play in a large orchestra. An
orchestra drawn on a particular project, in which the focus is on the most required repertoire in
competitions and auditions, for each of the following roles: Orchestra Leader, Principal chairs
(strings, winds, brass and percussion), row (strings, winds and brass) where the main goal will be
to study and work with the most known musicians of some of the most important Italian and
foreign Orchestras, for all sections of strings, winds, brass and percussions, encouraging the
artistic development of young people wishing to pursue a career as musician. They will be studied
and performed the movements of symphonies, the overtures, the Solos etc. required for
competitions and auditions. You have the ability to experiment with these pages, not just
individually, but in the orchestra according to the role the player wants to cover.
There is no requirement for a specific study qualification, but adequate instrumental skills, which
will be evaluated by the CV and a short video.
The course is divided into twenty meetings on weekends, 4 meetings will be led by the composer
Jorge A. Bosso for analysis and study of some of the most significant compositions performed
during the project.
The course is free for selected participants and also aimed at the participation of concerts and
tours.
Masterclass will be organized in parallel to each individual instrument, held the same teachers,
participation in the Masterclass it is open to all, even to those who do not take part in the
Orchestra Project.
There will be organized conferences and meetings on musical themes, involving famous people of
today's music scene.
