Susek Evangelistic Association PO Box 3007 Gettysburg, PA 17325 A Publication of Susek Evangelistic Association AFRICA’S CALL FOR THE GOSPEL Dear Friend . . . Evangelist Ron Susek I am reminded of the words written by the Apostle Paul: "For a wide door for effective service has opened to me, and there are many adversaries” (First Corinthians 16:9). The countdown to Africa has begun. The door began to open in Zimbabwe and opened wider as invitations came from Malawi and Kenya. I have been greatly encouraged by the many notes I have received assuring me of your prayers, my friends. Thank you. We are entering upon a serious mission that will certainly be met with opposition--both human and satanic. FIRST STOP ~ Zimbabwe Population: 13 million Official Language: English Capital City: Harare Other Facts: Suffering from a serious drought over past ten years. Home of the beautiful Victoria Falls, one of the seven wonders of the world. Country slightly larger than the state of Montana. GOAL: Address Brethren In Christ Convention and hold pastors’ summit. People in Zimbabwe Capitol City ~ Harare, Zimbabwe have been in prayer as I prepare to address some 2,000 at a national convention. The truth they are requesting is the gospel. Officials from the Mennonite World Alliance will also be attending the conference. The conference will be followed a week later by a Great Commission Summit. One of my themes will be Discovering the Real You. The purpose is to train pastors how to use the gospel to bring deep resolution to the thousands who have suffered great trauma from the injustices and massacres they have faced. Bishop Danisa Ndlovu (right) of Zimbabwe spent time at our home discussing and praying how we can see the gospel spread across his nation. in Danisa Ndlovu, Brethren in Christ Bishop of Zimbabwe visiting Ron's home. The two men discussed the soon coming national conference that Ron will address, as well as the Great Commission Summit for pastors to follow. They spent significant time in prayer and discussed ways that the church can take a leadership role in the emotional healing of Zimbabwe. FAITHWALK: Courage for the Journey Page 2 AFRICA’S CALL FOR THE GOSPEL SECOND STOP ~ Lilongwe, Malawi GOAL: Meet with pastors and President regarding future work in Malawi. Malawi awaits our arrival with unusual possibilities. The committee headed by Pastor Lovemore Kachingwe is setting up a national press conference to carry the news of our efforts throughout the land. The press is expected to be present when I address 800 pastors in Lilongwe, the capital city of Malawi. Population: 16 million (densely populated) Official Language: Chichewa, secondary English Capital City: Lilongwe Religion: 82% Christian; 13% Muslim Climate: Sub-tropical Other Facts: Known as the friendliest country in Africa. Lake Malawai takes up country’s 1/3 land mass Word has come that there is a possibility of meeting with the President, Her Majesty Joyce Bamba. That applies from the highest of leadership to the average man on the street. Capitol City ~ Lilongwe, Malawai DAILY PRAYER REQUESTS 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) Divine protection physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Anointing and filling of the Holy Spirit. God’s leading and outpouring of His Spirit upon the general conference and pastors’ meetings. God’s intervention in meeting with political leaders. Fulfilling God’s plans for His glory and purposes. FATIHWALK: Courage for the Journey Page 3 AFRICA’S CALL FOR THE GOSPEL THIRD STOP ~ Kenya Capitol City ~ Nairobi, Kenya GOAL: Meet with pastors and President of nation regarding future work in Kenya. Kenya is one of Africa's most beautiful nations with magnificent animal game parks. Still, there is a gripping need for the gospel to be preached. Reverend James Matara is heading a group of pastors who will attend a luncheon at which time I will throw out the challenge to spread the gospel across the land. While Christianity is widely accepted in Kenya, I am told in every country that Christianity is a mile wide and an inch deep. Population: Size: Official Languages: Capital City: Religion: 44 million Size of France English & Kiswahili Nairobi 45% Christian; 53% Roman Catholic; Muslim 10% Other Facts: The country lies on the equator Mt. Kenya is snow-capped and has glaciers Most popular safari destination One of Africa’s best agricultural areas This is a serious crisis. Remember that all of the Islamic nations within the 10/40 (latitude lines) window in Africa were once Christian. They were toppled by the threat and sword of Islam. The same will happen to other nations in Africa if we do not preach the pure gospel and teach solid doctrine. This is a day when years of missionary labor is under threat all across Africa. Jesus commanded us to feed his sheep. The door is open. The hour is now. I must press forward. I am sharing this information hoping to stir and awaken great prayer. Nothing is more shameful than for Christ's disciples to sleep while He is in agony. And the crisis that is upon the church in Africa indeed is felt all the way to heaven. So, I humbly ask, no I even plead, for your prayers. The trip to Africa is being funded by a grant, but I need your special help to meet our budget at home. Thank you for your faithfulness!
