Alumni Regional Clubs Celebrate A of A
We offer a heartfelt thank you to Penn Alumni regional clubs for joining our
yearlong celebration of the Association of Alumnae 100th anniversary. The
clubs listed below each hosted an event with a focus on women in honor of A
of A, and we could not be more pleased with the spectacular range of
programming that they provided for Penn women from Boston to Seattle,
from Atlanta to Madison, from San Antonio to The Republic of Singapore. We
hope that the success of these events will be an inspiration for all of our
clubs to host an event to celebrate women every year. We also hope that
you, the Penn woman reading this article, will become – or remain – an
active member of your own regional club. Find yours here.
Special thanks to the alumni leaders of the following regional clubs – scroll
down for the full event calendar with descriptions, as well as a recap of the

Philadelphia Women’s Service Event Recap
By Jessica Perry, C’03
In 2012, the Penn Club of Philadelphia hosted our first volunteer event with
Dress for Success, a national organization that promotes the economic
independence of women in need by providing professional attire, career
counseling, and a supportive network. At that time, my dear friend, Cecilia
Cardesa-Lusardi, a Penn PhD candidate, was the nonprofit’s CEO. I had
heard so much from her about all of Dress for Success’ unique programs and
initiatives that I was inspired to bring Penn volunteers there. After a
successful first event, we decided to make it a recurring project for our Club.
Our second service day was last month. Penn volunteers Marina Paul, Nicole
Wang, Priya Travassos, and myself were charged with several fun and
important tasks for the day. Some of us assisted clients and helped them to
select the perfect suiting and accessories for their next professional
engagement. Others worked alongside a career counselor to provide clients
with career development tools. And we all worked together to sort through
piles and piles and piles of donated clothing!
To volunteer with other Penn women at an organization like Dress for
Success that supports women in the Philadelphia community was a truly
special experience. I look forward to growing our volunteer partnership with
Dress for Success for many years to come.

women and men alike work for change? Join us for a discussion with female
professors from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law and the
Wharton School of Business and hear about their paths to success, the
obstacles they have overcome, and their advice for the next generation of
